Max,
Let's not stray to far off topic. First, too be clear I love Malinois especially for Police work. Our unit has several and they are really good Police Dogs. I am considering one for my next Police dog. As far as you threatening Beetree, it was a veiled threat. I'm not the only one that read it and commented on it. If you were being sarcastic by posting the picture of the .45 and telling Beetree that it was for her, well the joke certainly got lost in translation. Your comments to her were bizarre to say the least, not funny and very offensive. Not gentlemanly at all and rather disturbing. Misogynist comes to mind.

Zdog,
Good post. There should be no scourge against the Malinois. Just some jealousy by many GSD owners and lots of gloating by Malinios owners. Which they are certainly entitled too, it is well deserved and well earned. It is hard to argue with success and lots of it. I have an excellent GSD that does a great job, so I too get the jokes about my dog being part Malinois. But that is by the jealous Malinois owners that wanted a really good, high drive, hard, clear headed, not frantic, dog with super grips and a civil side but couldn't find a suitable GSD and had to "settle" for a malinois.
there is a tad of sarcasm in this post, can you spot it?

Yes the hatred of malinois is still out there, because of their hyperactivity and energy levels.
I have a very promising litter that is not hyperactive, but has all the great
qualities of the breed so far. But until they are adults I won't know for sure until pressure is put on them.
Their father was the calmest and coolest dog I have ever seen. Very good mind,
Intuitive, alert, and extremely biddable.
Their mother was a hard core Malinois . She was calm, but had over the
top protection levels. For accurate information about the breed and it's
care and welfare checkout the DMC website.

Man, still wiping my tears! Is this the thread that changed OUR PDB? Anyways....... That video was hilarious. My Reiker would've popped it though, (thought the Mal was going to do that!) Would've been more funny if it was a few seconds before the game was over and this play was CRUCIAL. But definitely funny!
I believe I saw Slam's "sport" sarcasm. I must be missing some of the back and forth verbiage? I have seen some AWESOME Mals work. Unfortunately one of the best I had seen train was killed. Such a shame. At times I have thought of owning one. At this point in life I want to stay all GSDs and see what happens with future breeding. My first bomb dog was a Dual Purpose Mal and that dog was something else. I felt Billy was a little crate aggressive and at times was cautious of him. A couple inches away from him and he was going to town, teeth just a slashing. I wasn't afraid of him but I said if he the want he would've already bit me. On the OB Course he muzzle bit a trainer and that night the owner of the kennel and head trainer met and decided too much of a liability for the contract. I stated I wasn't worried and the two of us would bond stronger. I stated the trainer contributed to Billy popping him but I was only a STUDENT. I tried and tried to plead for Billy but the next morning swap out dogs and now I have a Black GSD, Ginno. Excellent dog, but I knew Billy was also. And it would've been nice to learn more about the breed with him but at that time the Contract was the priority.
It's a shame but words can be so misread on the internet or any other means. Slam needs no one to speak on his behalf but for his dissing the Mal breed. NOPE. He's too professional and knowledgeable to do that. I would think he's interested in the "Working" dog. Doesn't matter what breed. Hopefully all of my post stays but in the last couple of weeks things have come to a head in a sense I guess. Not sure why? In a sense certain groups have turned into what I call "Us against Them" mentality. In my eyes "Right is right and wrong is wrong". And IMO there are defiantly different LEVELS of what the dog/breed brings to the table. And worth.
