In SC, but they have some nice breedings coming up. Super nice dogs that work well and great bloodlines...Cid scored very nicely at the Nationals this year.

Why the dislikes for Vondersuden? Thank you to all who have helped me out, I feel much more confident now in making a decision on what to look for.
I look forward to heading up to Jacksonville to check out their Schutzhund club, I'll be sure to ask many questions!

Every dog is born with a genetic window for possible hip conformation. Where they land in that window is dependent on the breeder and most important the owners expertise and skill at rearing puppies to 18 months of age. Hips are determined by genetics, environment, and nutrition .. the" raising them right" means feed a balanced human grade food or raw diet, providing the puppy with enough exercise to tire them by days end and as the dog gets older and stronger let them run at their favorite speed for a minimum of 1 hour per day. Minimize vaccinations .. I use two puppy parvo and distemper vaccinations at 9 and 13 weeks and none there after. Rabies vaccination as required by law. Fle, tick, heartworm and parasitic intestinal worms on an as needed basis. Exercise is missing in proper quantities from many puppies rearing and it contributes a great deal to bad hips because without strong muscles and connective tissues the joints are not held in position for proper growth, bone density, and load bearing strength. Really high quality food is also paramount. Don't blame the breeder if you are not willing to do what it takes to "raise them right".

I'm pretty sure the dislikes on Von Der Suden are from a breeder on here who wants to sell you a dog and doesn't want any nicer ones shown.
If Patti Baysden is at the Jacksonville Club, she would be a good person to talk to. She has bred and worked GSDs for years. She also bred one of her females to Cid...pups are still young. We have a Cid son in our club who is almost a year old. He is a very nice young male. Shows lots of talent in OB and Bitework so far.

What's the connection between von der Suden now and Will Beattie? Brit z Elisu's owner? I thought he was in GA, but that was a while ago...I guess I've lost track. My best friend owned a Brit son out of Verona z PS, from the B litter von der Suden. I had him for a while...super super nice dog with horrendous hips.

Must be a different Von Der Suden. This coming litter is only their first B litter.

Then it may have been prudent to do a kennel name search prior to setting up shop, lol.

Jenni you wouldn't recommend Von Der Suden? I sent him an email last night I see they have a breeding coming up this summer between Chuck x Banshee, both impressive dogs.
