"Here is one of the BIG problems with Internet lists."

     I agree.

It allows people who would not have the balls to disparage good people to there face run off at the mouth as IF they had the stones to back it up(not) it allows conspiracy theories,s to run rampant and defame people that work hard on goals that are obvious that the majority have no problem with. It allows people to hide behind cutie pie screen names and blather at the mouth. It spreads lies, consette, personnel vendettas, inaccuracies at the whim of the mouth(or fingers as it were)  that wish nothing more then to rake the mud on those that really give a dam.

Even when those people have been booted off most internet lists or moderated heavily on them to go some where else and bitch moan and complain to a whole new group of people.

Those that do do those that don,t bitch on the internet about those that do...

Thanks, Bob.  You sum it up beautifully.     You cannot have intelligent discussions with some folks, because they cannot stick to the issue with anyone who disagrees with them. .  Obviously, there are individuals, like Thomas, who can only  toss , make personal attacks and disparaging bullshit from  behind his computer.     There is a consistency about it that makes it not only predictable, but very entertaining.

By the way, Thomas, where is the threat?  Could it be you are simply projecting...again? wink

 Keitgh,

I have never represented, nor been on retainer, to USCA, Lyle or Al.  Thanks for asking.

"Thomas,

If you are going to make outrageous and defamatory  accusations like this on the internet, you had damn well better be prepared to PROVE them in court.     You may well be on the road to losing everything but your drawers with statements like this.   And, yes, I am making copies of it,  in case the mods step in and delete it."

Looks like a threat to me Nia.
UScA judge Anne Marie Chaffin has offered a motion to turn control of the AWDF to
UScA. You can try to spin it anyway you want.

We no longer "need " AWDF for international competition, though. Some of the breed clubs have established their own international ties to permit their members to compete in their respective breeds' "world championship."

Very true about breed clubs with international ties to compete at world championship. But how many breed clubs in the US now have to host a unification trial with a competing breed club? The WUSV told USCA and GSDCA they must have this unification trial. Which kind of devalues the USCA and the WDA GSD Nationals as the winners no longer gets an automatic spot on the team.

You ever realize how F-up it is to make the WUSV team for the USCA? You have to enter your local regional, the USCA GSD National and a qualifiying and a average score from either WDC or AWDF and the GSD Nationals. USCA can't just take away a one of the larger events, it will create a bunch of controversy as some regions are not able to train year round. That is a lot of time and money to spend to go to these events.  With USCA sending 50 dogs to the AWDF, you give your members an opportunity to compete international via FCI.  Many GSD owners have told me they will rather compete at the AWDF and enter the WDC to qualify for the FCI, then have to travel to enter the Nationals and a regional.  It will be interesting to see what transpires in the next few years.

Excellent point!  Unfortunately, this only makes it more likely that only the professionals in the sport can afford to enter the events required to make the WUSV team.  I know of a few persons who opted not to compete in the Selective last year, because they were simply tapped out financially and in terms of time they could take off from work.

I have no doubt that you are correct that more GSD people will see the FCI as the route for international competition, due to the relative "simplicity" to qualify, as well as the economic factors.   I do not, however, think that the FCI route  carries  the same "value,"  for lack of a better word,  as competing in the WUSV.  The WUSV Championship will remain the pinnacle for many GSD folks.    That could change over time.

The big question still remains, just how many people making up the biggest percentage of dues paying members really gives a rip about going to Europe or any where outside of the US to compete?.  I would guess that the largest percentage want to train there dogs and support there local clubs and cheer on the top level competitors but they them self could care less. It,s the silent majority and all you hear from is the vocal minorities... In my honest opinion.

All the hoopla that goes on with this whole buckett of worms truely will only effect the smallest portion of the membership. Maybe it,s time we started looking back to the people who support the orginizations instead of the few who benifit the most from the majority?

 Well said, Bob!!

I agree, well said.  It also seems to go along very well with a controversial amendment passed by UScA  as well.  Maybe it is time we start looking back to the people that support an organization instead of the few that benefit the most from the majority.  I like that idea quite a bit

GSD Unification trials and the Johannes Amendment and qualifying /affording to compete Internationally is irrelevant to the topic.  UScA is trying by hook or crook to take over the AWDF (actually only certain people who have been corrupted by power and want more). Hopefully the rest of the AWDF member clubs (the real ones at least) see threw the smoke and mirrors and vote NO.
