Waht is that underneath the runs? Concrete?  Is there anything inside the runs for the dogs to lie on?

At the bottom of my thread are links to some dog kennels that I really like. My run set-up is very basic and cheap since it rarely gets used. One thing that I learned is that heavy duty stall mats aren't for all dogs as my GSD ate one and vomited it everywhere. She has a stall mat now in her run but my husband trimmed the edges with steel to keep her from chewing it (she's not a metal chewer). I'll note that she never lays on it (or her dog house for that matter)- preferring the concrete pad or the Kuranda bed.

I have one of those dogs that likes to chew rubber! I'm constantly having to replace the toys she demolishes, and when I see poop in the dog yard with rubber in it, I know exactly who it belongs to!

If you approach her to try to get the rubber out of her mouth, she'll deliberately swallow it before you can pry her jaws open!
I wouldn't put it past her to chew on metal, either. She seems to like the taste of copper, as she liked to chew up the copper wire for the invisible fence I had in my previous home. (There were places where I wasn't able to bury it.)

If you look very closely in DOGSHOME9's last photo you can just make out that the 2 dogs each have a metal framed pet bed.

They are on concrete and yes they have the steel frame beds, off the concret I have pea gravel.

My dogs are only in there as I said at night or when the weather is either too hot or raining, during the day they are in 40 foot sqaure grass runs as in pics.

The night time kennels give me great security as we have lots of wildlife especially during the night.

The lower 3 foot fencing you see is my puppy outdoor area.
