OK, I'm a bit confused--is the dog in Australia, or the US?
If it's the former, well, then, Von Ultimate, I'm impressed that you went through all of the hoops involved with importing a dog into Australia. I'm familiar with the protocol, and it's not a cake-walk by any stretch of the imagination. If he's in the States, it will be interesting to see what he produces (assuming he doesn't get ignored like too many other nice stud dogs do once they get here) with different lines, and how the offspring fares in the hands of various handlers. I sure wouldn't refuse if somebody handed me his leash and said 'Take him, he's yours now', with that pedigree behind him...I like the character in his eyes.
Congratulations on adding what looks to be one hell of a nice looking, nicely-bred GSD to your life!

Ok, this whole thread is kind of screwy. Something isn't right. Is the dog in the U.S. or Australia? Von Ultimate on page 1 was just as curious as everyone else about this dog and then on page 2 he is the owner?
WTF?

Hi all,
Sorry for the confusion about Winlund's Tabo Jr.
Winlund's Tabo Jr. is currently in USA undergoing quarantine tests to be shipped/exported to Australia. Yes it is a very long and tedious process for all persons involved but can't wait for him to come to Oz.
Cheers,
Evan Harbalis

If he's brought into contact with breeding bitches in the U.S., wouldn't that affect the quarantine process?
Once in a life time dog, I'll buy that. But I think "legend" is a pretty strong word. Best kept secret from the american continent might be a better catch phrase for the hype campaign.

Evan, if you are trying to create "hype"
for the dog, it was done the wrong way.

Its not that crazy to think he bought the dog in between his comments in November and now.

darylehret, the dog isn't in quarantine here in the States--the procedure here involves a series of testing for titers against various diseases, which is done in order to significantly shorten the length of time the dog will be required to stay in quarantine upon arrival in Australia. Consequently, the dog can move freely here in the US, and entertain females brought to him as long as they haven't been exposed to said diseases or originate from areas where an outbreak of such illnesses has been documented within a specified time frame.
As for the suggestion that 'everybody should breed to this dog', well, if he's going to be heading to Australia this year, then yeah, anyone who's interested in this line better get in gear, because once he gets down there you're not going to be able to easily send bitches over there to be bred, and even having semen shipped back here would be a challenge at best.

If the dog is indeed 'all that',
perhaps his new owner should
have him collected and stored here
before he even leaves the country.
This way, he can still offer frozen
breedings from the dog to those
interested.
I give the new owner credit, it
is definatley not a cheap venture
by any stretch of the imagination.
I hope he is all the dog you want
and more!

I really dislike the term "legend". I see it as nothing more than a marketing ploy bring used more and more these days to hike up the price of a dog. It is of course subjective. I have heard of enough dogs being called "legends" here in the U.S. but the same dog in it's native country is just another dog or at best, a good/great dog.
