This is extremely concerning. I wonder if food markets like Whole Foods and Fresh Market are selling these products. It sounds like it may be possible that they may even be unaware of it, if they in fact are.  Yikes! Well, hubby grew a nice vegetable garden last year, so I guess I need to encourage him to plant again...and hopefully he can find some non-GMO seeds.  Does anyone know how to go about finding seeds or starter plants that are verifiably non-GMO?

Heritage seeds are non-GMO.  Oh, Whole Foods sold out to Monsanto last year.

Thanks GSDtravels. Looks like a vegetable garden is must! I'm so dissapointed in Whole Foods...thought I could trust them.

Watch the movie   "FOOD, INC".      http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1286537/

You can rent it from Netflix.

Monsanto is EVIL.

YES, we are eating this stuff.
It's really hard to know what is in your food.... especially in the US.

j.c., I think you have the wrong impression of WHY the crops are genetically modified and who's doing the modifying!

I have no idea what gives you this impression.

j.c., I got that impression from this:  "who knows what natural attributes heritage strains have that are getting overlooked that might already have what we're trying to attain;".  The only attribute they're tring to attain is resistance to a chemical.  Maybe I misunderstood?

GSDtravels,

Pm'd a reply; don't want to hijack too badly -- but long and short I'm not always the most adept at expressing what I mean to say.
