Pitbulls are also great for police work too. Check this pitbull bitch that was scheduled to be put to sleep because she was in an overpopulated shelter.
If Police departments can look in shelters for their potential dogs then maybe the county can save a bundle of Tax paying money on their police dogs.
This pitbull went from almost seeing death to now help to fight the war on drugs in this country. How amazing is that?!??!
These puppies could serve the same purpose. Theirs no need to excute them base on what they look like, and what breed they are.

Most legislation here can be ambiguous at the best of times but for this, it's very clear. These dogs are not allowed here and everyone knows that if found, they will be destroyed. If people decide to continue to bring them into the UK, breed them etc then they are the ones to blame when the dogs are pts. Not the police, judges , legislators etc. The law is there for a reason. Personal opinion doesn't come into it.

Breed bans are stupid. It's the people that need to be punished, take away their pits and they'll just find another breed to suit their "needs." Stupid people are already turning to malinois and molossers, in the midwest, anyway. Bring back the pits, please!
But stumpywop said it perfectly. The law is the law, whether you like it or not. It is a ridiculous law, but many of them are. In this case it's sad, but it's the breeder's fault. This breeder made the concious decision to breed those puppies knowing damn well what the consequences might be. Maybe if this person is such a pit bull lover, they shoud dedicate their efforts to breed education and lobbying to have the ban lifted instead of breeding them. Wonder how much an illegal pit bull goes for in the UK?

Personally, I want to gag when I hear people call their dogs "furkids".

It is what it is. Pit Bulls are not banned because they are a misunderstood breed and all could be therapy dogs if given the chance. Or because they are such sweet citizens, just misunderstood. They are banned because many are bred to do just what they are accused of doing over the world,, attack and kill anything that moves.
In the end, I abhor breed laws. But if that's what it takes for humans to be protected from these nutjobs who bring these kind of dogs into the world, then thats how it will be. Nothing can change that.

As Kelly said (someone with actual contact with dogs, whose opinion is based on more than what she reads in the National Enquirer), that demographic is already turning to Malinois and Molossers. Yuck. Personally, I can't wait until they start breeding them TOGETHER! Whoohoo!

Again, Brittany, et al, this particular issue has NOTHING to do with Pit Bulls, so please stop posting the cutesy videos. If you want to help Pits, Brittany, why not just keep quiet? Having you on their side is going to just about guarantee the opposite. You simply offend too many people too much of the time. I'm accused of the same thing quite often, but I think there's an ignorance in some of your posts that I try to omit. Sorry to be so blunt, but as a true dog lover, (and yes, as everyone knows, longtime Pit Bull owner) I cringe when I see you taking their case.
