maybe things have changed in the past few years, but I knew of only a few gsd kennels that dealt in KNPV, Antverpa was one of them.

I know that I see very few GSD's with KNPV titles than Malinois if you got out of that box you live in you would already know this duke.
I am still wondering what KNPV people you are talking about?
If only I were in Holland I would definitely bring my dogs out to you and I am sure that any of your negative connotations of Malinois being less than that of a GSD would quickly be removed from your mind.
Just remember that everyone thinks that there dog is the best thing to walk on four legs and that is great everyone should, but in my eyes a good dog is still a good dog no matter what breed it is. I just prefer to work a Malinois but am always open to work a good GSD.

no big deal , and certainly , I dont know and see all dogs in holland and offcoarse there are some good ones obviously , but not like you go to any KNPV club and you can see great pedigree malinois
vince , do you know five great pedigree malinois currently active in KNPV today in holland
i know an older fort oranje dog in IPO that I like , explosive eli van de vroomshoeve is a very good dog as I remember him , and a few more , but when I go to all breed competitions , im not blown away by malinois
in two weeks we have the dutch national all breed championships , maybe I will be surprised there

Among other things..... I notice
The way her brain calculates distances on terrain and her independent afore thought is amazing. She doesn't skip a beat no matter her speed. It's like compairing a moose to a white tail to be honest.
She had one mis calculation at 5 months old, where she injured her right carpus while coming to a stop. This was the only time she ever sat still outside house etiquette.
About the only thing my Malinois doesn't have that the GSD has sometimes too much of is patience while on her feet or simply the willingness to stand still. She never did. (I couldn't imagine not having a doggy door) But with that said, and the type of owner I am, we are a great match. I'm sure I could have remedied this useing the E-Collar, but I didn't. Now that she's 4 years old, I realize her impatience compliments us both.
She is also the only dog I ever owned that refuses to stay in the bed of the truck on distant travels. She does on the farm, race track, mountain anywhere thats custom but not when we leave. She insists running with the truck. So, she rides shot-gun when we go to the city.
Both her parents and all her relatives are NVBK, maybe this has something to do with the differences between the two I see. I dunno. What I do know is, her dad was amazing at all the qualities I mentioned in the first para that's what attracted me to him.. I could only imagine how proud his owners are at all his accomplishments in the NVBK world.
This is coming from a perspective of work that isn't schutzhund, ring etc. So maybe this really doesn't mean anything to anyone. Just sharing.
