Dobermannman, I think you'll find that the majority of the people who've (a) donated money for the investigation, and (b) joined that facebook page you refer to have no idea what you're talking about when you mention 'the MSSV court case'. Reading through the posts on that page, I came away with the impression that most of them don't even know what Schutzhund is--all they know is someone's GSD came up missing unexpectedly and was found dead two weeks later in a ditch that runs alongside the owner's property, and they feel badly for the dog and the owners. Oh, and this is the first I've heard of any court case, too, but then again, I'm not part of the incestuous little world that is Schutzhund in the USA...merely an observer from the sidelines.

Hexe, I think that's what makes this thread odd. I don't think most know the history and side stories.

Too bad that instead of being remebered as a 2x National FH tracking Champion. Hex will likely be remembered for this nonsense (no matter how it turns out)
I do believe this is what YOU said on 11-27-11, ummm that was your post, yes? You are the only one that signs your posts with Thomas Barriono and all of those dog titles.... So do you really know what your talking about?

Hexe,
I see that as a problem. People are donating based on an unproven statement that 'Hex was stolen and returned murdered two weeks later" I think that is dishonest and obtaining money under false pretenses.
I think it's like a heathy person claiming to have cancer to scam money from people.
It's like Chaz says, most don't know the history and side stories and sadly there are too many trying to shout down anyone suggesting anything but the worse possible scenario. They'd rather believe someone stole and murdered Hex then that the probable cause of death was a tragic accident.

Chaz, I agree--I keep wondering if the folks who are complaining that others aren't considering the case to be locked, shuttered and closed realize that they may start unfairly painting *themselves* into a "...dost protest too much, methinks" corner from the viewpoint of those who knew nada about any back- or side-stories until the case-closed camp sat it out on the countertop for everyone to examine.
Dobermannman, I suspect most of the monetary donations were offered in the first two weeks, before the dog's body had been discovered, so I don't know that your premise of 'false pretenses' is really applicable...at that point, yes, it was stated that the dog was stolen, but even if it were a case of the dog having been lost I can assure you that people would still have donated money to help find him. However, if it bothers you from an ethical point, you could always start your own facebook page or webpage that presented an opposing view...first amendment and all that, after all.
It should also be considered that *both* theories may, in fact, be correct--perhaps the dog *was* taken by someone, but was either released by or escaped from them and was struck by a vehicle while returning home... I still can't buy into the premise that the dog was hit by a speeding semi (the intact body shoots that claim down), nor that the body lay in that ditch for two weeks before being seen, however. I can conceive of a variety of other possibilities, too... But since there was only one witness present that morning, I'm just going to wait until all of the information is in and arrive at my conclusion at that point.

Some of you must live in the city. I say this because you honestly seem to believe that a dog could lay dead for two weeks unscathed by Natures natural happenings to clean the earth.

So Tom, It,s because People are donating money thats got your tit in a ringer? okay now I understand.
I believe most people know exactley why they are donating money and joining a face book page it,s called support. Again trying to connect some type of deep conspiracy to human emotion... I,m glad you have the time on your hands to come up with this stuff.
If you have nothing in it other then your mouth you need to find a new hobby.

I'm not commenting on Hex, but a deer was shot last weekend by me and the gut pile left 10 feet from my stand, there it was again this past Sunday, untouched for a week, laying in the middle of a harvested corn field. In that same field last year, the pile didn't last a day from the crows. There's still crows there, I watched them all day last weekend. I don't know how things survive sometimes and sometimes don't, but it's not unfathomable for a dog to lay dead in a ditch for 2 weeks. I"ve seen dead deer in ditches for months lay untouched.

Bob,
Could you figure the difference between a comma and an apostrophe?
My tit isn't in a wringer. You believing you know why people donated doesn't change the fact that the opening statement on the Hex facebook is missleading at best and possibility an outriight lie.
I don't have time for anymore hobbies. Training my dogs and laughing at your silly posts keeps me pretty busy
