Victoria, how can you get mad at Thomas? He isn't speculating, but using the facts of police and veterinarian reports. You are speculating. Are you going to put your money where your mouth is? You keep stating that people need to wait for everything to come out. What are we waiting for?

How much money are people willing to pay a PI to "investigate"?

I can't understand why you are SO hung up on this point...any money that has been donated has been given of free will--and as far as I've been able to see, no one from the Govednik family ever asked for anything save information, if anyone had any, and prayers.  Why does it bother you so much that money has been donated, and is being spent, to "investigate", as you put it, what happened on the day the dog went missing that resulted in the dog's death?  I think it's safe to say that the Govedniks aren't making any sort of profit off the death of this dog, and it's already been stated that any funds remaining at the close of this sad chapter will be used toward some sort of USCA purpose like a memorial tracking trophy, or to establish 'scholarships' for tracking in memory of Hex.

As to the theory of the dog's body lying hidden in a ditch in front of the property for two weeks before being discovered--no. Sorry, that's just not possible. Look, Thomas--YOU lost a dog, too. Still looking for him, you've said, and I don't doubt that for one second--you won't stop keeping one eye out for him until it's chronologically impossible for him to still be alive.  That's understandable.  So in what universe would it be possible for you to not notice his remains, in the very vicinity he was last seen, until two weeks had passed?

As for your question re signing posts and 'hiding' behind handles--there's no requirement that posts must be signed on these forums, so it's up to each individual if they wish to do so or not.  As for 'hiding', I suppose it's all in one's point of view: I use the same user name pretty much everywhere I go, and given the state of the world today, I'm prefer to avail myself to the thin veil of protection a user name affords me in the Interwebs.   If someone feels a need to know my government name, they can always PM or email me, and if there's a good enough reason for asking, I'll consider the request.

Edited to strikeout typo.

My darling Chaz...

We are waiting for the FINAL reports to come out, it has been stated many times that the necropsy was interium, that means that it was incomplete. Thats what we are waiting for. According to Thomas those reports will never come out, he is incorrect. Now, what excatly do you mean, "Put my money where my mouth is"? And the vet that read the report was NOT the vet that did the neccropsy at the U of IL.

Love,
Victoria

I don't know any of the individuals involved and am basing my opinion on the TV interviews, the police reports the necropsy and what I've seen posted. I don't care who donates to what. From the beginnning it was assumed by some that foul play was involved. You guys jumped to a conclusion that now seems highly
unlikely. Instead of admiting you made a mistake (in the heat of losing your dog) you're making excuses and
are grasping at straws. Instead of reading what is being written, you make personal attacks on anyone that
doesn't agree with you and assume there is a personal agenda. There isn't.

If the family spends the rest of their life believing that Hex was murdered and you don't why does it bother you?

NO lynch mob?  REALLY?  You people have short memories and a wide eraser!

I don't know anything except what I've read here, including the lynch mob quotes, which were deleted.  And I can say that it seems like a lynch mob for Dobermannman just because he's saying that this was blown out of proportion.  And he's right.

Reminds me of all those defending Vickie a few months back, BEFORE they knew the whole story.

I don't know any of the players here, I'm not saying Al nor anyone in his family is guilty of anything.  Likewise, I'm not saying ANYONE is guilty of anything.  But, there's no reason to have such a vindictive response to someone asking questions.  Maybe he was stolen and murdered, maybe he was hit by a truck.  Maybe the truth will come out, maybe it won't.  But those accusing Dobermannman of having some sort of underlying motive are also blowing it out of proportion.  He has every right to ask questions, he hasn't accused anyone of anything.  Chill!

Are you referring to my posts as vindictive?

by Betty on 27 November 2011 - 15:11

Perhaps my last post was not as clear as I thought.

Thomas, you are still looking for your boy that went missing three years ago, right?  I'm sure there are a lot of people that shake their heads and think and maybe even tell you that you are wasting your time and that you should move on.  But you don't, you continue doing what you feel should be done both for you and for your dog.

You continue to look for answers the only way you can.  I hope with all my heart that you find those answers one day.

Perhaps I'm more cynical about people and what they are capable of then a lot of people. I spent a few years as a child abuse investigator and have seen first hand what depths of evil people can wallow in.

I have no problem believing a dog has been stolen.  A few years past my area actually had a task force because of the sheer number of dogs stolen.  And this is in an area where a dog is often just considered a dog........

And I have no problem believing that there is a possibility that a dog was killed out of revenge.  I've heard of too may dogs poisened in neighbor disputes, often when the dog had nothing to do with the dispute.

As far as Hex, I don't know what happened but I do know that the family has some questions they want answered and some people decided to help them.  Maybe not the way you would handle it, but probably the best way that they can handle it at this time.  And I do think it did morph into something bigger then anyone anticipated initially.

Lastly if you felt any of my posts were directed at you in a vindictive manner, that was not my intention and please accept my aplogies.  I thought we were both explaining different views in a civilized way.

Your posts were not the least bit vindictive Betty.  You have been nothing but civilized.

Thomas, I thought maybe you did know them, and had more than the initial findings to base your feelings on, but obviously you know no more than the rest of us, so really, you are speculating too  at this point.

It is possible that someone did return the body immediately after the initial search, to make it look like an accident.  Horrible to think about, but certainly possible.

The ones who do not know Al, also do not know what has transpired preceding this event.  Obviously there is more to this than many of us know, which is why the family feels the need to investigate it further.

There sure are a lot of questions that still need answered. It is awfull funny it took nearly 2 weeks before the dog was found as I'm sure there was an initial thorough search. ??? For those who think it is ridiculous to think that someone would do something so evil.... think again. I knew a guy years ago who moved from michigan to montana with his pack of excellent bear & cat hounds and started a guide hunting buisness there. Well as it turned out those montana boys didn't take to kindly to him imposing on "their turf" and poisoned every dog he had... as far as injuries being consistent to being struck by a vehicle... hell they could have easily killed him via poison or asphyxiation and then run him over for good measure... the dog world is a funny place with lots of beefs and jealousy. It seems unlikely the dog was overlooked but is definatley possible. In fact the possibilities of what happened are endless. I hope he gets closure one way or another and looks forward to training & trialing again. Sincerely. Kurt Hill
