Well, strike me merry! I thought it was a true story and now fudge it. Glad you exposed it as being a fake. It sure had me fooled.
Yeah, You're right, the 'story' just didn't add up. But I still choked up when I read, " Where the Red Fern Grows", " Old Yeller", "Wilderness Champion", " Desert Dog", " Call of the Wild"...just to name a few, and I knew those were fictional STORIES. Guess I'm just soft at heart.

It's a wonderful story for Memorial Day! Whether tale or truth, it serves to remind us what the holiday truly celebrates, I have heard it before, but it is nice to hear it again! Thanks for sharing!
