We don't pay anything for our used fire hose. They throw it away, and give freely when asked.

The tugs that we make are around 2" in diameter. Mine has lasted through multiple dogs and has not frayed or needed to be replaced.

You can also slit them and make a guantlet around your arm, fastened and while yes, it still hurts when the dog bites, there are no punctures.

.02 Just the way we do it.

Yeah working dogz My pups have never had had a problem, it's some of the publics dogs that want to put protection training on there dogs, some dogs that have never been use to any of these things " because they are foreign" to them have problems so we work back and fourth with different materials until they get it down.
Thanks guys

for starting out young dogs, i agree with zuka.  frabo makes a great leather "rag."
i do not teach the out with young dogs.  they can carry and then re-engage easily.
no outting necessary, but builds a wonderful grip and easy on baby teeth.

i use all materials.  I don't want the dog to get use to only biting one type of material/surface.  I want them to get use to playing tug with all to prevent problems later on where they may only bite 1 material.
