"The pet food manufacturer in Vernon, CA that is within blocks of this rendering plan is Kal Kan Foods, inc. Makers of Wiskas, Pedigree, Sheba... ultimately owned by Mars.

Nice to know, eh?

Man, I really hope you're not talking about Mars the candy maker. I'll never look at M&M's the same...

Yes, Mars the candy maker owns dog food too... Just like Nestle owns Purina, Proctor and Gamble own Eukaneuba (Sp?) and Iams

I'm so glad my vet doesn't allow that sort of crap to happen at his pratice. Our dead animals are either taken home by the owners. (all my past pets are buried in the back yard, i'm starting to run out of room.) Or they go to the creamitorium and are returned in a jar. We know the guy who takes the pets for creamation and we totally trush him. But my sister lives in Alabama and O'l Roy was trying to buy dead animals from her vet. He did run them out the place as soon as he realsied what the sales man was asking of him! But O'l roy uses euthanised animals and farm by products (Aka dead rotting animals ) I can't even walk by that stuff on the shelf without getting the willies! My food must state exactly what animal the meat came from.

What about the people that don't care what happens to their animals bodie sonce they have been euthanized, and don't want their bodies or ashes ?  Not everyone does, and  I doubt the vets will pay cremation fees.
