Jenni, I gotta say I'm going to have to side with the housekeeper on this; if I were in her position, except instead of a puppy, it was a human baby crying the entire time I was trying to work, I'd have flat-out quit unless I desperately needed the money. I'm not being facetious, either--the pitch of the sound of a crying baby quite literally causes pain to my eardrums. As does the whine of the motor on a lawn mower. And certain power tools. So does the pitch of the sound of a puppy in distress--but I'd solve that easily enough, 'cause I'd be taking puppy out of the crate & taking him outside to see if he needed to pee. Probably wasn't the best plan, to have his first day of being home alone in his crate happen on the same day as your cleaning help would be working.
And let's face it--NOBODY is cleaning other people's houses unless they desperately need the money; it's not something folks do on a whim for a little 'pin money', because they're bored. I'm betting your housekeeper doesn't have a housekeeper, y'know? Cut her some slack, and see if perhaps it would work out better for the pup and for the housekeeper if you had a stuffed, frozen Kong ready for her to give the pup in his crate when she comes next week. Should keep him busy and quiet while she works.

Dawulf, glad Jewel didn't hurt herself, and hopefully in typical dog fashion she's already over it today and back to her sunny Golden self.

LF- LOL! I was thinking some aromatherapy candles, maybe some background music and some chilled champagne and strawberries. I didn't realize I worked for her and needed to make sure everything was exactly to her liking in MY HOME for her work there. I kind of thought that if someone is paying you good money (she makes more than I do hourly!) that you put up with a small hassle here and there because that's why they call it "work" not "vacation." It's 2.5 hours, every other week...and this is the first time she's had to deal with anything. She's also been getting paid to clean a room she hasn't been cleaning for 2mos...ever since Capri had her pups. I feel I have been pretty accommodating where the dogs are concerned.
Hexe, nope. She comes when she feels like it, every other week, she picks the day. This has nothing to do with my planning. She cleans to get extra money for the trips she and her husband like to take now that they're retired.
PLEASE and THANK YOU and a bit of patience (ie, do most of us complain to our boss the first time something at work irritates us?) go a long way!

LOL! Yep, I don't see a lot of people lining up outside my building every morning offering to volunteer.

I would fire her if you aren't getting your money worth's. She might be mistaken and be thinking you need her or something. You reminded me of something I haven't thought of in years! Blast from the past, really... called, "The Lizard Boss" from the Friday wigouts, by the wigmaster....Anyone else remember that? LOL

I've been 39 for awhile. LOL About as long as I've been 29.
You got the right era, though! Weird thing is, I think if I were to convert the timestamp, it would be close to 5:10 pm on Friday where I am, which is very close to the time this guy would do his thing, live! Everyweek, it became the rally cry for the weekend to start. See, blast from the past, LOL
