I'm curious,
Does anyone have first hand knowledge of what AKC's protocol is when someone has a litter of pups from semen that they own, but they don't own the stud.

Say a stud was origionally owned by breeder A, then stud is sold, changes hands a few more times, finally passes away from old age.  Then breeder A uses their frozen semen and wants to register the litter with AKC.  Are there major complications or is this pretty easy to still register the litter?

Example number two where the  Stud was sold several times and the Stud is DEAD

AKC will require a DNA on that litter of pups to prove the Straw of semen is belonging to stud that is DEAD>

As for Mollys case...the semen belongs to co owner number two..SHE needs to just have her new owner she is dealing with and knows she has the Straws of said stud she is transfering over to number one co owner now the only owner of stud she owns semen from  , sign over a legal paper , dated, wsigned and and notorized that  said co owner number 2 still owns semen at such and such and is still sole owner and can proceed to keep ownership and register litters from that semen .

As long as dog is alive...and AKC has proof of ownership of semen and no objection the litter will be registered by the second co owner as would have been in the first ..

But  AKC or new owner of any pup out of that litter may require a DNA  , by request to prove it came from the semen of such stud she has not in her possession... WOULD be what I would do also..If I cannot see the stud make contact with my female. or she cannot check the I WITNESSED THE BREEDING<>>>>> square on the AKC litter application    ..I would ask for a dna..

AKC has papers that may go into CASE management on any thing there is a question about where the new owner just has to have the FORMER owner of Stud , sign a compliance to..

DO not know...AKC is closed.. I placed a call about another problem and was too late or I would ask..

My casemanagement person would know and would give me an explanation..I know on BULLS you have to have the Angus Registration association issue an application with all facts...showing owner ship of each straw and its number..

Very well could be same with akc.
