A local trainer, Kelly Batton of K-9 Angels is a graduate of Tom Rose-do not know if she's a member of this site or not-have spoken with her but no training.

Sure she would give you more insights.
I did tour the Rose facility in '05, observed a class and made inquiries and then decided not to pursue.

I'm really surprised that no one has mentioned The Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers

Michael is probably one of the best dog trainers around IMO and really knows dogs and people.
Lots of people can train dogs. Few can train people to train dogs.

I have always heard good things about Tom Rose's School. I believe he also has a written curriculum which qualifies for Veterans' education benefits.

I knew a lot of Mondio Ring players who have been to Michaels school. Everyone is 100% satisfied. I wish I could afford it.
