I have a Zinger aluminum crate that I swore had a truck counterpart to it or maybe rails or handles or something that you could customize for a vehicle? I can't remember. You might try their website. I paid around $450ish for the crate. I'm on my second door of the "escape proof" series. http://www.caninecratestore.com/items/wire-dog-crates/zinger-professional-aluminum-dog-crates-detail.htm

I just remebered my old school, "Vohne Liche Kennels" (VLK) out of indiana just started fabrication of their own crates. I haven't been on their website in a while but wanted to say they were @ $400.00   (Could be wrong though).

Thank-you to everyone who replied.

Jenni- The black dog on the oak crate is gorgeous!

I didn't see a crate on the VLK website but I remember spending waayyy too much time looking at the trailers on the WDF.

laura,
did you go to their "store"? I'll look and get back in a few.

Okay, go under "VLK Store", then under "equipment", then scroll down to "Large Aluminum Kennel w/ Handles" E01, $400.00

Thanks- I totally missed the crate.

"Newly redesigned, this Large Aluminum Kennel is now equiped with four smooth carrying handles for your convenience.  This kennel is 26 x 26 1/2 x 34 and is also available in two other sizes." $400

laura....try Craiglist....i bought 2 large crates slightly used but still had store stickers on them for $40.00!
Right now people will sell anything they can for cash and that will be cheaper than buying ply wood at hardware store...

Absolutely. I got several kennels on CL. One of which was a Platinum series from Options plus...I paid $200!!!

I would think you could get some crates and rig them to be semi-permanent, or even just use parts of them to formulate something else.

There are never any crates (other than the really cheap wire ones) in my area on Kijiji or Craig's List. However, a friend suggested that I join a hunting forum in my area since he's seen several custom aluminum dog boxes for sale for around $300 to $400 (what I want to pay). I joined the hunting forum (Jeez!) yesterday and emailed about one dog box already.
