Lurcher is still very shy today but is doing better. He likes to be with people but he isnt crazy about being touched or talked to. He did waggle his little tail at me today :)

He really enjoys playing with the other dogs. He gets along better with them than us. But I cant blame him, Im the same way! LOL

What are the common breeds in your neck of the woods, especially the common breeds with the sort who would dump a pup?  Mixes don't happen out of rare breeds often enough to place much weight in those ideas (eg Dutch Shep).

His size at what you think is about 4 months (because of teething) would be helpful.  If he is 45+ lbs, he could be an underfed gsd or gsd mix x dane (I had one once).  If he is much smaller, he could have gotten the brindle from a pitbull terrier, or possibly a whippet (much less likely, but he sure has the look), but not likely from the many brach breeds (pushed in faces) given his long face.

He looks so thin and his paws look big.  Is that true, or an illusion in the pics?

The most popular breeds around here that would be dumped like this is probably hounds and pitbulls. (lotta rednecks round her') LOL

I have never seen a whippet or greyhound around town.

He isnt big at all, and the big feet is just the way the camera angle is. I would say he is about the size of a 8-10 week old GSD, but much lighter boned than a GSD. He will be a medium size will full grown.

I will have to get some better pictures. Today has been a busy day! Lurcher hasnt had ANY accidents in the house :) He sleep all night in the same spot and hasnt caused a bit of trouble. Talk about a dream pup!

But now...what to do with the little guy??...mail

What to do with him? Take better pictures! LOL

He could be a GSDX mixed w/something brindle X. I bet he's more than 2 breeds. I don't see the kind of Pit most people think of, but if there are real rednecks there w/real Pits, there could be a touch of Pit in there. I will post pics of both Simon and Seven as puppies; they did NOT look like any Pit Bull most people had ever seen. If one parent was a snipey-nosed GSD mix, it's possible. The expression is odd though. I saw a Pit puppy at a pound that they had labeled a greyhound. ROFL. He was a gamebred-type smaller dog, not exaggerated, but so clearly a purebred Pit it was ridiculous.  It may be easier to tell later on.

I just saw a litter of Pit/GSD pups, but the GSD was a super nice working line dog and the Pit was a bigger, stockier dog. It's possible your boy may be a similar mix.

I can definitely see GSD in his face. He is probably a cross from a long line of crosses. His light brindle markings are nice! And he has a white stripe down his chest.

It will be a mystery forever...LOL

Here is a closer picture of his markings...

Well, if you are really curious, go buy one of those DNA test kits. We did that with our dog... you just swab the inside of his cheek a bit and send it in.... they send you back a list of breeds in him.

He's cute, whatever he is!

Sigh... I want him so bad. He looks like a cuteee. :D I hate it when people drop off their barn cats or dogs at our house. Someone dropped of a skinny longhaired, neutered, no claws cat next to the horse fence (next to road) and WHILE STILL DRIVING, slowed down, but didn't even stop, just opened the door and toss, we were out in the barn luckly and heard the car slow down and watched them do this and this poor was scared stiff. We went over there unknowing what it was at first and here is this poor cat laying in the tall grass in the ditch meowing. This poor cat wouldn't even move. He recoved well though. Was an awesome barn kitty. :D
