Go to your vet get some tranquilizers add them to some cooked ground beef.
Set the food out for dog watch area with binocs from a distance, keep dog in sight until it finally lays down.

This poor girl is still out there. She is "terrified",but not hungry anymore.
I have had 5 people stop and ask if she belongs to me. A few have left her food. I am going to take my pup with me and get dropped off.  I'm hoping she will come enough to him to let me try to get her.
With the amount of fear she is showing, someone did something terrible to her. And it's pretty obvious she got dumped and not lost because she continues to sit in the middle of the road, like she's waiting for someone to pick her up.
(that's the kind of crap that really pisses me off, dumping)(I brought the cat home, he is with my niece, but there is another cat there with the dog. These people that dumped them are real scum).
I'm going to try my hardest to get her today, I will call my vet to see iof I can get a knock out for her.
I will NOT contact animal control unless it becomes life or death for her. if she gets into a shelter, she has no chance of adoption with the fear she is showing.
     Wish Me Luck!!!

Poor, poor dog... Good luck in catching her. Kudos to you for your efforts.

Well, still no luck. The good thing is she is staying on my road, which is a dirt road, not much traffic.
I have a few people on the look-out(hunt)for a have a heart trap. She in no way will let me get close enough to catch her.I also am putting ads in the paper and might try the radio. They will announce lost dogs.
It's been raining for days here and the temp is going to drop to freezing this week-end. Like I said earlier, at least she is not hungry.
i'm going to head out in the morning and try again.

Poor little thing. Sitting in the road waiting for the humans she had faith in to return. Whatever they did to her, she is still ready to try to prove her worthiness to them, if they would only return. And she will go to no one else, lest they treat her unkindly, or spoil her chance of being found again by her persons.
And someone is out there, not knowing that this little canine spirit is trusting them, loving them, waiting faithfully for them, steadfast little heart slowly breaking....oh, there's a special place in hell for that person(s). I hope that guilt consumes their very soul. I hope they see her searching eyes every time they close theirs. Rotten, rotten, rotten bastards.
Good luck, Kitkat! I don't know what else to suggest, but good luck. She needs someone who is good of heart, like you, to restore her faith in humans. jackie harris

She is still out there. I have managed to get her about a mile closer to my house,by moving her food up.
I am no closer to being able to get close enough to get my hands on her. When I pulled out my camera to try to get a pic of her, she really beat feet out of there.
At least by coming closer to my house, there are a couple of summer camps, and a trailer where one of my friends that passed away 2 years ago used to live, which at least provides her with shelter.
She is well fed. I cannot find a hav a heart trap anywhere. If something don't give in the next day or two, I'm going to buy a hav a heart trap. It will be cheaper than having to get her out of the dog pound. I'm calling her Gypsy now.If she gets caught by dog catcher, I'm telling him(don't tell),she is my dog,so it will be cheaper to get her out.
I feel like I know her now,as I spend lots of time watching, and baiting her.I may be feeding her too much, and that is hindering her letting me get close, but I don't want her to leave the area.
I put a couple of ads out there, of course no one has reported her lost. I'd like to kick the person that dumped her right in the ass.
I'm not giving up on her.
(I am afraid to try to knock her out,due to the fact how quickly she disappears into the woods.I could lose her real easy and don't want her knocked out with out shelter in the woods.)

Well, I guess I am goinbg to have to try the dog warden here to help me.
I just came back from looking for 'Gypsy', and I did not see her(I found a hav a heart to borrow).
I did find the food gone, and bear tracks around the trap, so I cannot leave the trap for a dog to get caught in,with a hungry bear around.
I will have to NOT leave food, and only feed her while I am there. I'm amazed this dog is sticking around. Almost makes me think now this dog was "left behind" by one of the city people that come up and have camps in the woods.
(to be honest, I'm scared to go the camps by myself in the woods, and see if anyone is around).
