If you want a VERY Good dog then you pay for it...If you want a mediocre dog then you can pay less...So many Police Depts and people in general looking for dog...Say they want a GOOD Dog but we know everyone's definition of GOOD is different...
When I want a GOOD Dog...I can find it...but I also pay a good price for it...You can also pay a lot and get crap...You must be careful of who you deal with...It's a business and you must be wary...
If your demands are high (meaning what you want in a dog) then you can find what you want...just be willing to pay a resonable price...

Here's his pedigree. I'm looking at the dog for a friend. The dog is a SL with some limited bitework training and basic obedience.

Jim,

Just curious, what happens to those dogs that fail? Where would someone go that is interested in the "flunkies"?

We have talked along these lines on previous threads. I know we are all a GSD "family' but it is still truely amazing (with no disrespect or prejudicies) but for the "TRUE WORKING" dog, the one that has a daily job where lives, property etc., etc. area at stake it's like what Jim, Melba and whoever works or associated along those lines has said. Not always a piece of paper, but what the dog has, can do and brings to the table. (The bigger picture). Can he/she do the job/task and do it well?

For a working line top competition prospect with hips, elbows, spine xrays and a good pedigree? Yep!  The greener the better too.  Less training issues to fix that way!

 Would I pay $4K ?

For a SL that had good breeding, beautiful structure, a nice temperament ,and heath clearance ....MOST DEFINITELY!!!!...: )

I happen to think the dog in question is very nice.....Are there any recent pics. The picture attached to the pedigree looks younger then 2yrs old..JMO

Exactly, Sue. I sold a 14 month old Belschik granddaughter around three years ago for 3k. She had a little foundation but that was it. I had three offers, which was cool as I got to choose the best home. I chose the one that let her on the couch LOL.
