Update We did as said and all is well. All dogs made the trip much easier then we did. When we reached our property - 16 hours after later, the dogs were ready to go out and explore and have fun. We just wanted to set up cam and rest. Isn't that the way of the world. We stopped a few times to walk them and encourage them to drink, also gave them a few tablespoons of wetted caned food to keep their blood sugar up. Other then that, we were blessed that the temp was under 90 for all but 3 hours of the trip. Camp is set-up, breakfast is on the Coleman and we are in heaven! Life is good today.

The 16+ hour trip back was also non-eventful

We left Colorado at 6pm Houston time and drove straight through, stopping only for gas and arriving in Houston around 11:00. The temp was reaching 93 when we pulled into our driveway. The dogs were very happy to jump out and run into the air conditioned house and then headed straight for the pool of a splash.

I guess all that worry was for nothing.....

Next week I'm going to see about getting an AC unit attached.
