I understand the imagined concerns with some dogs, but has anyone ever actually heard of a bite trained dog becoming problematic in a rescue? I seriously wonder if there've been any cited cases at all. If a mindless lost "victim" came raging at the rescue dog with a stick or weapon though, better hope the dog lacks the courage to engage.

I've had really good luck with the stuff from Elite K-9 AND I really like www.AllK-9.com too. If you sign up for the mailing list with AllK-9 they give you a 5% discount on your first order and they send you out notices of sales (like a 15% off on all items in the catalog). I've had really good luck with their stuff so far and the prices have been good.
I got my male GSD's first SAR harness from Elite and after it wore out, I replaced it with one that I like much better from AllK-9. I'll be getting several more items from both places for my female GSD that I'm also working in SAR
Another site some of my teammates really like for harnesses is www.canineoutfitters.com They have a lot of colors and will do quite a bit of custom work on the harness.
If you want a biothane leash or long line that's customized to your preferrences, try www.k9noz.com They have really nice ones
And count in as one of the folks that really loves my biothane leash. For a long line for tracking, I use a horse lunge line. I got mine from www.jefferspet.com for $12 for a 33' line. Works great doesn't tangle and it's plenty strong.

Hi Melissa,
Thanks for the links.
I've been looking at the K9noz.com leashes and long lines. Really like that you can get the lock jaw clip and they have lots of colors to choose from.
He..he....For now I also use a horse longe line (I have horses) and I converted a pair of split leather reins into two leashes. Had a shoe store sew handles in. Looks beautiful.
