My '03 model year boy;-)

Jenni, I have to say that I am a huge fan of your dogs. Caleb just has that "make my day" look to him, and Capri is just stunning!

Thanks, Dawulf! I'm a huge fan, too. ;-)

I was going to post him anonymously and ask opinions on how old he looks, but I realized too many people would recognize him and know how old he is, so that wouldn't work. But seriously, I think he looks much younger than he is, though I may be biased. I honestly don't see much change in him over the years, except he's damaged his teeth more every year working on his "projects."angry  The person who owned the 4yr old dog I was training this week was totally astounded and has already switched her dog's food, lol. Now, is food going to make most dogs look like him? Um, no....don't we wish that were true...but every dog deserves to be in the best condition they can be in. I had someone say Capri looks great...I'm thinking "she's only 4!!!" She SHOULD look great. But there are 4-5 year olds who just look awful.

Anyway, thank you very much;-)

Hexe @ 14 yrs. & 9 days, 10/4/2009

Suess @ 14 yrs & 7 months, 10/4/2009:

Suess is still hangin' in there, having just had her 16th birthday a month ago, and still looking pretty much the same save for a few missing teeth.

Good looking dogs hexe..... content and happy!

by hexe on 04 April 2011 - 02:04

Thanks, alboe...sadly, I lost Hexe a little over 4 months after these pictures were taken, but she had a good, long and very happy life.  Suess still feels spry enough to run up to the fence and bark at the cows at 16, and I know that makes her happy. :)

Your boy Reiker certainly doesn't look like he's just had his 9th birthday--there's hardly any 'snow' on that muzzle!  A beautiful fellow, with such a kind face!

I am such a sucker for old dogs...

hexe,
So sorry for your loss.

Yeah Reiker, thanks! I look at him and think........ Is there anything more that he could possibly do? Sometimes you wonder about people and animals and how they work together? He's is and has been everything I could ask for and want. He gets a little jealous at times of the other two. (you could see it literally two yrs ago with Anastacia. And seven months ago with Arabella. Reiker said "Oh no, not again. I have to share my master with another dog!") At first he wanted nothing to do with Ana but after her first heat he knows they are together. He gets a little ornery with Bella jumping in his face but everyone knows when Reiker has had enough!

The hardest thing for Reiker is he was used to doing everything, going everywhere with me and now he either has to share or stay at home sometimes. And boy when he sees one of the others get to go and he has to stay.....the look is: Master...... how can you do this to me??? "Why can't I go? WHY???"

I had Chows for 17 yrs. and never separated them. When the F was PTS the M died within two weeks, I believe from a broken heart. So now, I will separate them at times so hopefully that won't happen again when the time comes.

He's the best...... I think Ana is getting ready to start her heat so the other day all three were outside. Ana and Bella are two peas in a pod! ALWAYS running non stop. Everyday, all the time! Reiker will most of the time but the girls are a little faster. So Reiker gets into the chase and the girls are running full speed and Reiker is "galloping" but keeping right in stride with them. Went on for about 15 mins and then he looks over at me as if to say "see, I still have it!

Wouldn't it be nice to know what our boys/girls are thinking?
