I just wanted to clarify my post, this is not a practice I would accept during every breeding with my girls, but I have done with one of my retired bitches. Also, if reading the post it states the uterus of the bitches bred back to back showed less stress than those who are given time off. That said, I would say the mind and body of the bitch was not studied as well as if those bred back to back had any more/less health issues than the other half and if their offspring had health issues. I have seen many breeders who are well regarded who breed multiple times in a row and then spay, I do not think any less of them because of it and I know the dogs they breed are very healthy and given the best of care.

gsdland--the problem is that I think that quote about studies of various uteruses (uterii?) is made up--one of the people I contacted is a reproductive veterinary scientist who works with the AKC, and he said he'd never heard of it but he was asking around on an international email list for reproductive specialists and would let me know if someone knew of it.

Hi Blackthorn, I see. The quote was from another forum, please let me know if it is incorrect and I will remove it. My apologies if it is.
