The offical autopsy is back all 30 some pages, no post mortem injuries. The body was in severe decomposition stages with magots in every orfices. This is public knowledge all it takes is to sign a Freedom of Information release at the Henry County Illinois Sheriffs department and for a small fee you can read the report for yourself.
I would also read back on all the boards and what Al stated happened that sad day Hex was hit by a semi truck. The semi driver reported it a couple of days after hitting the dog to the police and it was followed up on. On the police report his name is blacked out to protect the driver and no wrong doing was found by the semi driver. After reading what has been stated on this and other boards the driver needs to be protected from the lynch mobs. Read the facts its all in the autopsy and polce reports. Its public knowledge, but if you want to keep sending money why not set up a fund to fence their property. This is not the only dog of theirs that was hit by a car, in the same area that Hex was found. You can't say for 100% that a (dog) will not leave the property, dogs chase things and follow their noses. The best way to protect your dog is to contain them or watch them. I know if I had one of my dogs hit by a car I would take care to make sure that I wouldn't let it happen again.
I would invite all to read both the police report and the autopsy and make your own determination and maybe people won't be so fast in putting together lynch mobs befor the truth comes out.

i read about funds being raised to help the family defray the costs. I ask questions, because you always should when it's a private donation and not a NFP where things are public- questions like how much money has already been raised, who is the money going to, how will it be spent? Normal questions...
I am wondering, and maybe I missed this-- was the dog insured? Some show dogs/competition dogs are insured. So?

edited for content--
You know, I've come to realize that there are always going to be people who are trying to take advantage of other people, and there's also always going to be somebody with an ax to grind about somebody else--even Mother Teresa had her detractors. If it turns out that this whole scenario was one big scam, well, then, shame on me for having compassion for people I've never met...I've donated money and time to what seemed legit before, and I'm sure someone will be able to fool me again if they play the right tune. I'd rather take a risk of helping someone who needs it than be suspicious of everyone and thus not help anyone.

Still a very sad story. To bad the dog is the one who paid the ultimate price. My condolences still go out the the family and friends of the Govedniks.

Al and his family have consisently asked that people not make any judgements until the facts are in. When emotions did run high one of them stepped in and reminded everyone not to be rash and to stay calm.
So where is the lynch mob?
I will wait until they release any info.

Where/who was the 33-page report distributed to? Who has read it, and are there any conclusions or info you can share?
