Now, I have no reason to belong to either USA, the WDA, or the GSDCA. So what if the SV needs verification of my age?. Just copied my driver's license.I'm holding my breath until a breed organizataion in the USA gives a senior membership fee--equivlent to the fee charged a professional shepherd, service dog handler, or youth member.

Interesting. I understood the membership in a WUSV member org to apply only to NON-residents of the US. But , I could be mistaken. Again, READ the written rules!

Wow, it just gets deeper and deeper,,,Have always belonged to the SV, but all this other crap is over my head,  except WDA.  and you are correct Nia, they really did pick up the slack when USA would not...Thanks,  Lida

I will never understand why both American GSD organizations can't just throw out the welcome mat (no charge) to all comers, for all events. As tough as the logisitcs are in a country this size, for training and competing, and as high as the associated costs are these days, it just doesn' make sense to me to do otherwise.
Whatever happened to good old fashioned hospitality?

by Louise M. Penery on 24 January 2011 - 16:01

USA been misleading people all along into thinking that membership in the WDA is a competing GSD "breed club". So long as you are not a member of the GSDCA (a "breed club"), USA will gladly accept your money and you as a member.

However, if you want your dog to be "dual registered" with the SV, you will still have to join either USA or the WDA.

I will wager that, even with my dog entered in the show by a new SV member, USA will still charge me for admisssion to the show, for parking, and for a catalog (used to be free). It is a racket!

Everything has its price. In order to be able to enter my dog in the 2011 USA Sieger Show, just sent my membership application to the SV in Augsburg. Postage = $.98. If this were possible to do through USA, just think how much USA would charge for this "service"!!

Friendly Reminder:  Both the original poster and a moderator have requested this thread remain about the upcoming 2011 Sieger Show.  Please limit your remarks/questions to  the SS, and refrain from commenting about the USA organization in general, on this thread.

Further off topic comments will be deleted.

I am the original poster and surely did not make such a request.

Question regarding the 2011 USA Sieger Show: will those of us who have entered our dogs have to pay to walk through the show site or to park our cars?

zmoderator edit:  Yes, I misspoke, my apologies, Louise.

Mary D., who has kindly stepped up to answer  everyone's questions has said she will limit her responses to the topic of this thread, the Sieger Show.  Nevertheless, my post was the 2nd time it became necessary to gently remind posters  to stay on topic.  If you would like to start a thread about a different topic, you are welcome to do so.

Louise, Please!!! From this incessant belly-aching, bitching and moaning, maybe it would be best for you NOT to enter OR attend the USCA Sieger Show. Yes, you will probably be charged for parking, the airline is going to charge for luggage, the rental car will tack on taxes up the wazzoo, and some spectator next to you might have flatulence. Have you bothered, yet, to READ the applicable rules?? I hope so, because I would hate to see the bitching when your SV membership, while a citizen and resident of the US, fails to do the trick (pun intended). If people spent half the energy spent in plotting and scheming to bob and weave around the rules into constructive engagement in the organization, perhaps your primary "issues" would not exist. @Shelley: There is a difference between exhibiting "hospitality" and being pimped. Sometimes, it is simply too fine a line.
