Blitzen I agree with your post totally, Can you post a picture of an "Akita" or "Chow" head and what you think is a perfect GSD head? May as well turn this into something informative.

4pack, I can, but I'm not sure I want to pick a dog to represent my idea of a Akita/Chowchow head. It may very well be a Va dog and then I'd be in hot water 
. One I am thinking of has already received rave reviews on this board. I will try to find one of a head I think is a good one.

As luck would have it, one of the first photos I clicked on at the side of the home page, a black dog name Bodo.......is what I would consider a really nice and correct head for a male GSD. Not a lot of stop, ears are well set and of the correct size, the skull is not domey - I hate apple- headed GSD's LOL -viewed from the side, the lines of the skull and muzzle are parallel to one other, no Roman nose, his eyes have the correct shape and are set deeply enough so that they are protected by the boney eye sockets. I think that gives him a soft but alert and masculine expression. Excellent pigmentation. my only critisicm would be I'll like to see a bit tighter lip with less promonent flews, but do not recall if that is addressed in the SV standard or not. IMO a really beautiful and correct head.

Believe it or not, that is the dog I was thinking of, GoldenElk, but so many here seem so fascinated with him that I thought I'd keep my big bazoo shut for a change. You are fearless...........kudos!!!

I've been stabbed on here before for my opinions, it don't hurt that bad 
His color is stunning, but that head is almost grizzly bear-like. At least he isn't roached...
