Pop up ads - Page 2

I think its a new form of ads from Adsense, https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/9261306?hl=en

They load between page loads and do not interrupt page loads. And you can close them immediately. (unlike ads on apps)

Google is trying to make it up to website owners since all revenue now on free sites (like this one) are dying out and being purchased by big corp to monetize.

I give it about 8 years until you will only have open sites run by big corporation to subtly promote their stuff and sites run by non-profits or things run by super-packs. You can't run a website today without charging customers. How the hell do you pay a server/db/hosting cost of 100s or 1000s of $ if the users simply run ad blockers. Scammers (abusing ads) and ad blockers kind of made a red queen scenario (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Queen_hypothesis) The scammers where abusing the system that led to ad blockers being better which led to scammers abusing more and more (and advertisers being aware of the situation and paying less and less and less). 

Leaving legit sites with a fraction of the revenue but 100% of the operating costs. Ad blockers are not common on mobile so Google is making it up there instead of finding ways to circumvent ad blockers. (ps. I have the programming ability to make the site unusable for users using ad blockers, I just don't want to.  But I have thought about making a ~2$ a month subscription that is completely without ads and making it so that logged in users, without a subscription, can not use any feature as long an ad blocker is on)

I've had a ton of low ball offers for this website, i.e. to remove ads and make it "pay for use". I have rejected them all. 

I want it to be open like it has been since schafer.is in 2001. Anyone should be able to get help and advise breeding without paying something they won't know if it'll help or not
