"Write down your daily goals, but change if its not working out. Keep a log."

This is something that I've found has really helped us keep up with Bosco's training. I keep a list on the fridge of all the things we're supposed to practice; I update the list after class on Sunday- along with any tips from our trainer about a specific exercise (eg. practice left hand spirals a lot this week).

There's also a calendar next to the fridge where we write what we practiced with Bosco each day. On Friday, we review the week's entries to see if any activity was missed. I found that it worked best for us if we kept track using an old school paper calendar instead of a shared electronic app like EverNote. Seeing empty calendar squares while we stood around in the kitchen drinking coffee in the morning really motivated us. ...well that and switching to private lessons with our trainer (there's no one to hide behind when it's just you under the eye of the guy).

"Never bring your ego with your dog, your dog doesn't need it"

"Why are you raising your voice?  Your dog has better hearing than you"

"Slap the handler, it's never the K9's fault"

"What was the command in that garbage sentence?"

"Remember to breath"

Like it MindHunt.  I used to be a yeller.  Then I got a dog that yelled back.    After lots of work on me,  we both stopped yelling and now we work out great.

From the dog's point of view: " What's in it for me?"

Nice mindhunt. How true, how true.
I was taught to make it " the game of obedience."
I just go near the pinch collars and dog's go nuts.
They know it's time to play. I truly need more training then they do.
This is a great topic. Take Care
