It is just as easy to take a deep breath. And let it go.
You have merit, not defined by the ones who want to argue. As if they win this one, they win them all.

holy tap dancing jesus, the thread is about understanding the bible as a literal or allegorical text from a CHRISTIAN perspective. all you can talk about in response is evolution, atheism, morality, cancer cells (invented by god for what purpose?), satan telling lies about scripture even when i quote scripture - what are you saying satan wrote the bible???
origin of the universe, lol........the bible was written when (as sevenpatches states ((one sentence deleted))) "at a time when people didn’t know that the Earth revolved around the sun, disease and sickness were caused by viruses and bacteria, and earthquakes were caused by shifting plate tectonics. So for thousands of years before YHWH showing up, humans struggled to get by as hunter gatherers. YWHW watched as humans began worshiping the Sun and the moon as gods, and eventually polytheistic gods. Then for some reason, YHWH revealed himself to one particular tribe in the middle east some three or four thousand years ago. Never mind the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Indians, Chinese or many other tribes of people throughout the world (African, Polynesian or Native American). Nope, for some reason, one tribe was picked to hear the message from the supreme being that created all of reality.
Actually, YHWH didn’t even reveal himself to an entire tribe, nope it was just a handful of people who got to hear the message. Not everyone was listening to the message so YHWH decided to flood the entire planet and didn’t bother telling anyone else why or that he was the one who caused the flood. After that, supposedly one of these few people wrote down rules on some stone tablets, we don’t know where those went. Apparently things didn’t go so well cause then this guy named Jesus shows up to apparently be punished in our place. I guess we did something wrong to deserve punishment but it’s okay since this Jesus dude has us covered. It would take around 1,400 years before anyone on the Americas would hear about what this awesome dude Jesus had done.
Oh yeah, it all makes perfect sense."

CTI and Mr. Riddle trains people to believe the earth is approximately 6,000 years old. Science has proven over and over that it is millions of years old. That goes with the discussion I heard the other day where one group was saying the reasons the dinosaurs didn't survive is because they did not get on Noah's Ark.

CTI and Mr. Riddle??, who?
yes and all the known and predicted species that exist have all evolved after the two of every kind stepped off the ark 4400 years ago, how many new species a day is that to disperse around the world from somewhere in arabia. and nobody noticed...

beetree, nobody is taking Shtal's merit away and nobody is trying to "win". There is right and there is wrong and I'm really sorry to tell you, but facts say that Shtal is wrong. And BTW, why are you treating him like a bullied 5 year-old child? He's making claims that he nor anyone else can back up with facts, not one, single, solitary fact. All fallacies being parroted from dishonest people, is that what you find to be moral? Really? If his ego and his views are that fragile, he shouldn't be parading them around so they can be examined, quesitoned and/or disputed.

^ i assumed bee's advice was to me to ignore shtal .

Yes, I think your approach to Shtal and his ideas, whether they be wrong or right takes the form or tactics of the bully.
There is no way either of you will convince him to your POV, you know it, and yet you persist. It apparently makes you feel you have license to berate or condemn him since your support of a theory is "right" and he does not agree.
You will carry on indefinitely because you both get something out of it, probably you feel superior or clever, or who knows? I don't care too much either way, what, only that the conversations are never productive and usually very mean spirited.
The truth is Shtal has evolved in how he reacts to you both goading him, and yet, you two continue in the same vein as you always have.
It really doesn't help your case for the love of humanity. IMHO

the things people have to say when they have nothing to contribute to a perfectly reasonable conversation.
sorry shtal if you are feeling bullied, you can continue to judge people, tell them they are of satan, tell them they are going to hell and they are tares and tell lie after lie to defend your delusion that the earth is about 4000 years old.
so sorry for being a bully and providing perfectly reasonable POV that are different to your bronze age goat herder science.
sorry for hurting your feelings, didn't know i was bullying, maybe you should tell people you are feeling bullied instead of having some lady to do it for you.

Sorry, didn't mean to hit send. Got nothing to add. Oops.
