125= 10 digets, 134= 15 digits. I use the 10 digits. Many scanners will not pick up the 15 digits, especially older models like the one I have which is the Pock- Scanner. The AC here in town has the same model as mine, so if someone has the international chip in their dog, then this type scanner will not pick up the chip.

That was my thinking. I know the 134's are required internationally, but especially on the Chi, the likelihood of him needing scanned in another country is slim, so I thought the 125 would be a safer bet as far as some of the "old school" scanners still in use in many areas. Thanks again.

Here's the little guinea pig I'll be using the first one on. There is just no way I'm sticking a regular chip needle in him. He has the tightest skin I've ever seen on a Chi. I chipped my others, no big deal. This one is half their size and tight as a drum.

Thanks guys. Noah is a really good dog. Really. Everyone likes him, even those who swear they hate little dogs. I went back and forth between a Yorkie and another Chi. I really tried to NOT buy another Chi, but I've had them since college, at least one at a time. They are just such tough little guys with huge personalities.

He does look tough in those 5" day lilies, no? LOL

We had a guy come out to our club I think last spring, maybe the year before, for a helper seminar. He's trained police dogs for years and handles some super civil breeds... told us some stories about one GSD he had that he always had to be careful around because the dog would nail him if given the chance. He told me that he's always waited for one of his dogs to bite someone while in his care, but that the only "live bite" he'd ever had to deal with in all those years was with his wife's 5 lb chihuahua. Teeth Smile

This little guy is amazing. I love Chis, always have, but they are typically one-person dogs. My Chis were mine and barely tolerated other people. My favorite one would actually waltz up and bite my boyfriend just because we were arguing, LMAO. What a character he was. That was 2 Chis ago. Anyway, this guy, is a family dog. It's crazy, but great. He's just as content to snuggle and play with James as he is me or even the other dogs. Super happy and friendly. His parents were very nice dogs, too. Everyone loves him- seriously, everyone.
