It would seem to be that prager and DDR-SDH pretty much gave the two basic reasons a Mali or any high energy dog would bite a person. DDR also explained that there are some rank dogs that also will bite the handler. Both of these people have much experience as well as others that supported their posts. So I would study their post and see how your exposures fit in.

Just another thought, how many of the people that have responded with their views on the Malinois and it's behavior, actually own one?  And, of those who do, or have owned one(1), are you basing your opinion on ownership/training of one(1)?  Studies of one(1) subject do not a theory make.

I have a mal that's pretty screwed up (I rescued him at 7 months) but I can tell you with confidence the last thing he would ever think of doing would be biting me.

My high drive working line GSD has tagged me and drew blood on numerous occasions, some were my fault some were his.

I haver never been bitten by a mal and I trained  quite a few of them.
These handlers who get bitten deserve it probably

I have had all three breeds. GSD, Malinois and Dutchies. We have been messing with all three for a good while. We use to just have GSD ( 9 ), and would train and sell malis and dutchies. After my sons allergies three years ago do to the dander of the GSD coat we have gotten away from them. We always now have 3 - 5 dutchies at home that are all trained for real life situation and not sport dogs ( protection, dual purpse ). We have now two females for protection one that is extreme but social and one younger girl that is still maturing, As well as a Certified dual purpose boy. As far as malinois yes we have had them live here to on several occasions while fine tuning there qualities to be resold. All were social with family and great with my son, don't get me wrong a little crazy but very easy to get a hold off. Never had a Mali disrespect me though, but like I have said in previous threads concerning this issue ( Good Bloodlines, and good training ) in prior hands before us training them and fine tuning them to be sold for there disciplines.
