A good start would be promoting the shit out of moderate Muslim scholars with non destructive interpretations of the Quran, these people exist.

Force will not work, we have tried it and IMO it is what led us to where we are right now.

Unfortunately, the existing moderate Muslim scholars have proven to be ineffectual against the ISIS terrorists. Who is doing this promoting that is suggested, any way? More foreign interests, or are we waiting for the moderate Muslim's to unite and what... defend us, or even, USA? From what I understand by talking to such existing moderate Muslim's, they really aren't too keen on ANY foreign "help" and blame us for the situation because our brand of "force" involved arming one opposing faction against another. So, when that "force" of action failed, (the provided for side, didn't win) we have now given the enemy, a new, fancy equipped military force with advanced weaponry and they didn't have to pay a dime for it.
Blaming ourselves à la Obama style, isn't quite 100 % telling the whole story. We used our idea of "force" by providing means, weapons and skills, and that is why we are where we are today. What we need is to use our USA force as if our lives depended on it, not theirs. Then there will be respect, and compliance understood in the way they themselves, use force. They wonder why hasn't Obama done a smack down on Saudi Arabia? They think we aren't using our influence there effectively, at all. It is the Wahhabism alliance with S. A. that spawns the ISIS style terrorism, afterall.

You misunderstand as usual. I am sort of just old school, "Walk softly, but carry a big stick.", kinda gal.
How about talking about the salient points such as the origin of the problem and why the pie in sky answer of "promoting", uh, what does that mean really? Making commercials?... is going to change anything? If I am wrong, and well, I would actually love to be wrong, but I am going on conversations with real moderate Muslims to guide my thoughts, then it should all just fall into place, easy peasy with a nice round of hand holding and singing of Kumbaya.
Instead, there is the usual personal attack diversion. Geeze. Get some facts going, please!
