I'm hoping you are able to help/advise on the matter concerning our puppy and a dispute with the rescue that we relinquished her too.

I am the current owner (all paperwork remains in my name) of puppy.
I suffer from severe mental health issues, along with being impulsive in my decisions and also have a child who is SEN.
On Thursday 12/1/23 I contacted a Rescue to seek advice on coping mechanisms regarding typical puppy behaviour. I discussed with the volunteer/admin of their FB group the issues we were experiencing (chewing/biting etc) the volunteer recommended due to our child having SEN that puppy should be taken in to their rescue. On impulse and feeling of pressure I agreed.
The volunteer sent over an assessment form and contract for me to sign, which I completed both forms the volunteer called me again and advised a friend of hers was going to foster our puppy and to meet with fosterer at agreed retail park, where I needed to sign the contract again, in person, however neither the online contract I was sent, nor the paper version had been completed or signed by the rescue themselves.

Friday 13/1/23 at 8.44am I sent a WhatsApp message to the volunteer requesting return of puppy, after realising I had made a complete wrong decision (she was my support when I needed and we were going to move forwards to train her as a support dog for my son with SEN)
I received an email refusing return of our puppy, infact the wording in the email disgusted me, whilst puppy was in my care, she was a much loved, cared for family member.
After my request to return her to my care, both the trustee and the volunteer blocked my number and blocked me from their FB page.

I raised a complaint to the rescue via email as after reading through their contract again, they are breaching the contract given to me (which I signed) within their contract it states "once a dog is in foster, we continue to update owners with photos and owners are invited to join our FB group for supporters of the charity, where once a dog has been adopted, his/her new owners are required to post occasional updates"
Nowhere within the contract does it state previous owners can not request their dog back.
The other breach of contract, she has been sent in to foster with a "friend" of the volunteer, this particular fosterer has not been homechecked, nor is not fully insured, as the rescue states is their protocol.
I have already informed consumer direct and the commissioning team regarding this matter, I am awaiting their response.
I've made another complaint this evening outlining all the above.
Please can anybody offer advice if I have a case for this matter.

I have moved this here to our Main Forum as I think it might get more views.

If you handed over the dog you have no recourse.

People need to be very careful with these "rescues" as their mission is solely to get hands on and legal custody of the dog.

That said why in the world would you hand your dog to a "rescue" in the first place?? You can't get your dog back. You surrendered it for whatever reason.

I'm sad for the breeder of your dog that you did this. Why on earth did you not return the dog to its breeder?
