Hi everyone - someone mentioned something to me today that I don't know is a myth or not - so I will ask the experts. Is it true when a male is kept as a house dog that he will not mate as well (or may not even mate at all) as a kennel dog?

A spoiled house pet might be a bit more hesitant, but hormones are hormones, regardless of the species! Oops, did I say that out loud? Sorry guys! If the shoe fits, you know ..... I have seen tough working dogs who live in kennels be hesitant to breed if people are too close or talk or whatever.... I have seen house dogs want to nail everything that comes near them .... I think it all depends ont he dogs innate drives... it is what it is, as they say...

all my dogs live in the house, we had a dog meny years ago he to lived in the house and he did not have any problem with that, he sired well over 20 litters with no problem at all, so I would say that it is a myth.
