So I have a 1 year old purebred, tan saddle female GSD, who has passed all her health test + possible diseases. She is also DM clear! She is beyond the breeds standards, extremely intelligent, athletic & has an outstanding drive.
She will be OFA certified once she turns 2 years.

Unfortunately when I purchased her, she did not come with papers. The Sire of the litter was registered with AKC but the Dam was not.
Is there anyway I could get some type of Registration with AKC for her… I’ve heard of “conditional registration” where an unknown ancestor is detected, & from there they have to have so many lines of litters with this dog to achieve Full AKC registration.

Is this something that I would be able to do with my female?
I’ve heard of “PAL Registration with AKC” but they want the dog to be spayed.

I have another solid black AKC male puppy (4 months) German import, who I think would mate well with her. But I want the litter to also be AKC papered which isn’t possible atm.

I'll let others here post on what is and is not possible under AKC rules - but I can tell you that what you ask used to be possible with the UK's Kennel Club - years ago - and was discontinued because it became either unmanageable, or less requested. [Don't know which 'cos the KC have never given a straight answer to that one !]

What you used to have to do, if you had a dog that was apparently purebred but with no papers to prove it, was to present the dog to two accredited Show Judges of that breed to examine. If they said the dog was "of its breed" you got Registration - but I believe it was always only what they called "2nd Class Reg" - and the KC also discontinued THAT system a long time ago.

The thing about trying to breed with dogs with no papers asks the obvious:  why buy a dog without papers in the first place ?

Is your bitch FCI or other non-AKC?

Was her mother registered somewhere other than AKC?

Was the litter registered somewhere?

Do you have purchase paperwork/receipt?

Will the breeder send you papers now or provide information about the mother?

Do you have DNA test for your bitch?

Answers to these and other questions will help determine if and what AKC will allow.

Check out ALL the links under Rules and Regulations for information

I once sent the AKC some pics of an intact Malinois I had for a PAL registration - for CGC/obedience certification purposes(not breeding). No problem. AKC took my money and sent the papers - just as the club trainer advised me they would.

AKC registered pups are almost always avail on local craigslist ads.

The PDB is for accepted Purebred Breed Registries only. The AKC Pal registration allows this but like the AKC Conditional Registered dogs not accepted on the PDB as those dogs are not proven to be Purebred GSDs.  Dogs that go back to a unknown pedigree can never be a Purebred dog.

I had a rescue GSD which I wanted to enter in tracking and obedience, so I applied and got the CKC equivalent of the PAL registration, which is the PEN (Performance Event Number.)

That doesn't mean I ever thought of entering him on the PDB!

What PDB accepted pedigree/registry for these 3? The AKC does not recognize the APBT as a pure breed. Nonetheless in addition to the respective extended pedigrees, each of these dogs’ fighting records are displayed. For example, GR CH = grand champion, 7 contract wins.   4XW = 4 wins. 1XL = 1 loss. ROM = register of merit, ie producer of fighting champion progeny. That image of “Scrub” with his handler was likely taken while in the pit during a match.

This is publicly available knowledge. For historical purposes perhaps. Also public knowledge is organized dog fighting is a felony criminal offense in all 50 US states, to include spectating.

I respect PDB as an excellent go-to resource for pedigree information, namely regarding working shepherds. But these peds do not appear to be in line with the rules, written or otherwise.

GK1 you did enter dogs in the past without required Breed book and registration number check the history of the dogs you entered.

These Pitbull terriers were entered years ago on the PDB. Check the history of these dogs. Oli owner of the PDB site is the owner of these dogs. Oli took over all the dogs at that time he left these dogs. Now not all Pit Bull terriers on the PDB are AKC registered there are other Breed Registers accepted for the Pit Bill Terrier.
