Conflicting reports. One claims contractor dogs left behind. Another report says no military dogs left behind. Don't know if the article denying military dogs not left behind includes contractor dogs or playing semantics with the terms. Don't know if American Humane has mistaken pets left behind for contractor K9s or if both Contractor K9s and pets left behind. Does anyone know what the real truth is on this?

there is a video from a guy that says he is in contact with soldiers involved with these dogs. they were not handlers, just assigned to oversee them. he said they ended up opening the crates and freeing the dogs before they left. it was either that or just leave them caged. probably won't turn out well either way.

think they were both contract dogs and also dogs belonging to people evacuating, who had no way of taking them.

if I can find the video, I will post

not sure this will work as it's twitter, which I know nothing about.

Yes, it worked. May have to click through again once or twice if it initially comes up blank.

Poor dogs  😭

Praying that someone there can do something before they're killed or die from dehydration, etc.

Yes, all the military-owned dogs are safe.

It was contractor-owned and privately-owned dogs that got left behind.
The woman at the shelter that got those dogs to the airport is still in Afghanistan raising funds for another flight. Seems the US has passed a new rule about not allowing dogs in from various countries due to rabies. Also that the staff had visas that required vetting in a third country before going to US. No country that would allow the plane to land with the dogs, and the people couldn't go directly to the US. So the dogs were kicked off the plane and the woman running the shelter stayed behind.

News on this is slow and spotty. Different than the high-profile Pen Farthington dog flight to UK.
