It has been many years since I lost my Sampson, but am seeking to get back into our SAR group and become more active than I have been. I did it for many years beforehand. Sex does not matter, but a male with the correct drives and traits would vetter suit me, but I am open to other options. I would like a dog that has been tested or has began some form o f trailing or tracking. Please feel free to email me Jerry   zahnweg@aol.com

I saw your post re: SAR/cadaver Golden. Your profile shows a GSD (gorgeous), so wondering if Sampson was a GSD or a Golden? I am an active handler with a local (Alberta, Canada) K9 SAR group, and have a young male Golden that's fully active in live (we are still training to reach full certification on cadaver). Though I'm not selling him (since well....it takes alot of time to get them up to active duty), both the Golden or the GSD make awesome SAR dogs (though I'm sure you know this already).

Just wondering, if you've located a dog already? I prefer males since I find they have a higher threshold of tolerance, than the females do (regardless of breed).
