I know how most people feel about the ASL dogs, but I saw this photo on my FB page today, and had to share! You don't often see a moment of suspension* at the trot like this! No wonder this bitch took BIS this weekend, and also went BOB at Westminister!

Yes, not a perfect dog...don't like the large white spot on the chest, and pasterns and feet could be stronger, but what LOVELY movement!!

I like her, too, SS. I can tell she's related to Dallas, can you? She should end up number 1 GSD this year and be rated in the top 5 herding dogs. Kent is breeding and showing some really nice dogs IMO.

Yep, I knew Dallas was back there somewhere! She is also linebred on a few of Dallas's ancestors, R-Man in particular.

Very pretty!! Has anyone ever crossed a Champion ASL with a working line? Did it improve temperament and working ability of ASL and improve conformation and movement of working line? It probably hasn't been done as people would considre it a dilution of talent for both but I thought I would ask!! It would take a brave breeder who was trying to improve the breed to try it and think outside the box like that....

Of course, you guys all know by now, I am a dreamer who would love to see the GSD factions mixed! It would be neat to see Dallas today...I honestyly think that he would be very competitive in the SV conformation ring. I don't know about his ability to do sport but I have seen several of his progeny herding and they have very good instinct. He is one of my favorite ALL-TIME GSDs in type (health issues aside)!!!!!

Ana...as a side note, I told my husband about your subtitle comment and he laughed so hard he almost choked!!! hehehe

I don't know of too many working line breeders who would call a move toward ASL conformation an "improvement" to working line conformation. 

Well, I have been on plenty of training fields and A LOTof GSDs look like Mals and I would not call their conformation breed standard and that's a fact! Type is still important as part of the breed standard! And, the good ASL toplines, shoulders, and fronts are correct for the breed.

But, Jenni, I don't fel like bickering with you today because unlike you...I don't need to be constantly starting brushfires. You are on here so much why don't you go train! Have a great day!

Beautiful bitch, and BOB at Westminster this year.  WOW;  nice win.  And @ Jenni, yeah everyone can improve on particularly shoulder extension;  haven't seen a great one lately.  Sometimes it takes a couple of breedings for it to show up, sometimes first breeding to improve shoulders, once you have established a great shoulder other goodies will follow.   Like improving the "shit" roachie toplines I dispise.  Better angles, a more natural dog in general.  Layback is very important in overall dog.  Nan

No comment on the dog, but the photo is especially interesting because not only is the dog "suspended", but so is the handler.   Nice shot!
