Where dog=canis lupus and not homo sapiens

With all the discussion on humanizing dogs, would love to know more about this topic. What does it feel like ?, how does your homo sapiens take it ?.

I let my Mal get in bed to cuddle sometimes but he sleeps in his crate or on the floor. He's too big to share the bed with my husband and I already in it! lol

Ours do, where there's room.  Two adult male dogs.  We do not "humanize" them.  I typically put them on the bed before I get ready for bed, to warm it up since it'll be about 60 at night in that room.  I definitely don't cater to my dogs.  When I get in bed if they are in the way they move.  I don't ask them to, I just snap my finger and they go. If they want to stay on the bed, they find room after I've settled in.

Nope, no dogs on the bed.. theirs are next to the bed but they prefer to sneak onto the couch while we're sleeping. That is,
unless I'm sick and by myself, then they will come up because I ask them, and it is more of a comfort for me then them. I thrash
when I sleep, so they'll only stay up for as long as I'm awake.

That's a great idea..to use them as bed warmers. My concern is what if they carry ticks...(inspite of frontline plus).

My dogs aren't allowed on the bed. However, my female will get up when my back is turned, so I keep the bedroom door closed, as I have a hand made heirloom quilt on the bed, and don't want it being accidentally damaged by her claws, or have her make it dirty.

My new cat, OTOH, is quite welcome....

When I come home from being out for awhile, I often find a warm spot on the couch, and know one of the dogs has been napping there while I'm out. They are too smart to let me catch them in the act, though!

Mine do not even come in the house much less the bed. There is no dog hair in my house, that is nasty. JMO  Not to mention blood sucking parasites.

guddu, the only ticks I've ever found on my dogs have been dog ticks, which won't jump off of a healthy host and won't bite a human anyway.  Plus if my dogs are exposed to parasites then so have I because I'm the one training them and I do have to check myself.  I use flea/tick prevention on my dogs during the months that these bugs thrive and my dogs are exposed to them.  My dogs live indoors and are very clean.  They smell like detergent, not like kennel dogs, lol.

They can only go on the bed at night, since they have no access to the top floor during the day.  They don't get on until I put them on to warm it up, and in the summer they sleep on the tile in the bathroom because it's 90 degrees in the house and no one wants to be within three feet of each other!

I don't like them on the couches but can't prevent it while I'm at work and they don't destroy the couch, just get hair on it, so I've had to give in.

heh I had to get a bigger bed for my minature watch dogs/yappers lol Its just me and my 3 poo's but together they dont weigh15 lbs. They dont take up much room but eh who needs an electric blanket and I dare someone to try to enter my room without me knowing it lol
One great benefit of having Poodles, they dont shed, a great benefit of owning a grooming shop.. They dont stay dirty more than a few hours lol
