Thanks Tracy/Alec will do.

Glad to hear that News John,  In view of the already known findings of the  AGPAW report and now the suggested conclusion of Prof. Bateson in his so named Bateson Enquiry - as reported today in the Daily Telegraph - i.e. that the KC should no longer be in charge of regulating the dog breeding industry.  It would seem prudent for every Breed Club not to be seen to be too hastily jumping into bed with the now , alledgedly, twice condemned KC draconion demands.

Now is the time to show the True Colours of your Club. Are you on the side of the Breed or the side of what you consider as prestigious,  money spinning CC's??

Now onto a similar matter ;-

IN VIEW OF THIS RECENT KC THREAT ,  I APPLAUD THE DECISION MADE BY THE GSD LEAGUE COUNCIL.
TO CONTINUE WITH THE INITIATIVE THEY MADE as far back as OCTOBER 08 (being the original instigator of this idea
in the UK) THEY SHOW THE SAME COURAGE AS WE EXPECT FROM OUR BELOVED BREED (so sadly lacking in
many others),.

THE FIRST DUTY OF EVERY SINGLE BREED CLUB MUST SURELY BE TO PUT BREED PROGRESS
BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE
.

A CLUB WHO WORRIES MORE ABOUT KEEPING IT's CC's THAN  HOW IT CAN ENHANCE BREED
IMPROVEMENT, IS NOT  WORTHY OF THE GSD BREED.

IF WE WANT TO ADVANCE THE BREED IN THE UK THEN WE SHOULD BE DOING SO UNDER  THE HISTORIC NAMES OF OUR EXISTING BREED CLUBS. THEIR FOUNDER MEMBERS WOULD EXPECT NOTHING LESS.

FORMING SPLINTER ORGANISATIONS IN ORDER TO RUN SHOWS  FOR  THE PROMOTION OF HEALTHY ANIMALS IS AN ADMITTANCE THAT OUR EXISTING BREED CLUBS ARE QUITE HAPPY TO CONTINUE TO RUN SHOW WHICH PROMOTE UNHEALTH CHECKED ANIMALS!!!!  FROM NOW ON IS THAT HOW YOU WANT THE WORLD TO VIEW YOUR BREED CLUB?????????????????????  THINK ABOUT IT !!!!

THEN REMEMBER WITHOUT RECOGNITION FROM THE KC or the WUSV what value would exhibiting at these splinter organisations bring to our show scene? Just a thought !

Regards

I’m the last one to put a damper on the present proceedings; however, I think we need to look at some facts.

Our GSD League are SV members, it surely makes sense to show under that umbrella; if a currently recognised / known Club, wants to run an SV type of show, it would then (and only then) be recognised by the SV… which is ideally, what we need and want, isn’t it?

I fully understand everyone (Scotland, Ireland, Wales) wanting their own “banner”, but you / we can have that, we just have to work with what we’ve got now and go forward from that to ensure the best possible results for our future. If we want our shows to be recognised, that is the only way at present; so, it makes sense to me to work with what we’ve got as a united team… I think this is of paramount importance at this time!

Hi MissBeeb -

You are totally right, we have no intention of working without the League, we all need to be going in the same direction, its just a matter of being pro-active.   This is my opinion,     Mo - Mascani.

Hi Miss Beeb

NO WORRIES - DO NOT PANIC

If you care to read Heather's post on the SPGSD posts you will see the following -

The 2 Groups already forming are NOT SPLINTER GROUPS.

These 2 Groups are preparing to join up with the GSD League and WUSV/SV when the time comes, or IF IT COMES.  They are first and foremost DISCUSSION GROUPS where like-minded people from their Country or Area can come together in a neutral venue to dicuss these issues.

That's great news Aileen, as previously I had recieved an email suggesting non of the Scottish Clubs were prepared to run an SV Style show under the umbrella of the GSD League which was my main concern as I took it that it also included this recently proposed Scottish Progressive Club.

As the GSD League have now issued letters to all Members with an open invitation for them to submit their preferred response to the KC's Undertaking,  in writing to the League Secretary before the end of January. Since the KC Undertaking did not arrive on our doorsteps until the 7th / 8th January  I APPLAUD THE GSD LEAGUE FOR TAKING SUCH QUICK ACTION ON THIS MATTER, wIith ONLY FIVE WORKING DAYS between recieving of the KC Undertaking and despatching A full detailed report including the response intiative to your members,  YOU HAVE CERTAINLY BEEN VERY BUSY BEHIND THE SCENES and with no stretch of the imagination COULD BE  ACCUSED OF DRAGGING YOUR FEET!!!!

Since our WUSV Member Club The GSD League of GB has now taken this stance, and in view of the fact that it will have its members response by the end of the month,  I  fail to see ANY need at the moment for the formation of a splinter group based here in England as suggested by Penny. Obviously the inunendo's given to her on the phone about things happening DID HAVE TRUTH and as previously said it would be unreasonable for anyone to have expected the GSD League to have acted more quickly than it has.

My best wishes to the Scottish contingent in their endeavours to form a SPG Club independant of the KC and any other GSD Breed Club in Scotlands. Would it be correct of me to surmise that this new Club would be in contact with the WUSV Member Club with the intention of running shows under the recognision of the WUSV. If so, MORE POWER TO YOUR ELBOW, YOU HAVE MY FULL SUPPORT and promise of HELP in any feasable way that I can.

Thanks also Jean for your information above. As always I will await to hear what the innovative Irish have to say with the greatest of interest.

ONWARDS AND UPWARDS
LETS MAKE  2010 THE TURNING POINT TO A BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR GSD's IN THE UK.

Aileen, very well put and thank you for getting across what I obviously did not :-))
