Perhaps a video could be made about "KC-ABS the FLAWS" and posted on Youtube?
It  would also be very useful to place a LINK on websites & circulate

Perhaps someone who is very familiar with the workings of Facebook (which most certainly isnt me lol), could put a request on there for anyone from other breeds to send snaps or video's of their adult dogs or puppies, purchased from a KC ABS which have 'problems'. Especially those with problems relevant to that particular breed which successful Mandatory Health Checks on the parents would have probably prevented.

Facebook is a powerful media as many people from all walks of life use it, I am just not sure how or where something like this could be posted on there to reach maximum viewing.

However, if it is possible, it would be a help if lots of photo;s or small pieces of video could be sent to one central point and then for someone else (or even the same person perhaps) could collate all these pieces together to place onto YouTube.
Just a thought, and obviously just an extension of Davids idea.

Excellent - we really do have a very important and truthful message to give the British puppy buying "public"

There are millions of them! - what a powerful lobby!

Is it such a good idea though? I don't think so.  Isn't this potentially going to do what everyone accused PDE of doing - driving puppy buyers to pet shops and backyard breeders? I would consider carefully what the implications of such action will be for the GSD and other breeds in general.  The puppy buying public generally do not want the german showline shape, so there is nothing to be gained there, so this can only be simply to score points against the KC. Forget them - move on.

This course of action would worry me, and I think that it is really irresponsible, just to score points against the KC. Think about it. If you care about dog welfare in the broader scheme of things, the long term damage you could cause. Many accredited breeders do much health testing in many breeds, why should you take it upon yourselves to discredit them in the process of your argument against the KC ?   Yes, many dogs under the scheme will have health problems, so will many GSDs bred from the showlines....I wouldn't go there!

Why don't you just leave the KC alone to get on with their plans, and get on with setting up your own systems and shows?  Time will tell as to how this will turn out for the breed. And time will demonstrate who takes the breed in the more positive direction, showline or KC, the evidence will be there for everyone to see in the dogs that are produced in the next few years.

The Kennel Club & the Alsatianists must be very concerned that we are, quite rightly, turning the publics attention onto the Kennel Club "Accredited Breeders Scheme" and its serious flaws, which make it very deceptive for "Jo Public".

We have a "PUBLIC " duty to help "Jo Public" more FULLY understand it - surely

I am sure "ABS" members must also be somewhat perturbed that their "best puppy selling tool" is being undermined.

Considering the clubs that have signed up to the KC, it is not just  'alsatianists' that will be working with the KC, why are you so fixated on alsatianists, they don't fit the breed standard anyway, and I can't see them gaining any advantage to this. What they may be doing is something positive and coming up with revised breeding strategies - and I hope that is the case.

So what it boils down to is this, you've lost the battle with the KC and would like to destroy it on your way out - that is clear. The problem is that your skewed thinking carries some others (who I think should have more sense) with you. Fortunately I doubt that it will have much effect, BUT if it did, I cannot believe the dis-service that you would be doing to the dog world in general, just to soothe your own ego. I can think of a few other fanatics in history that have done the same thing. Looking back, people cannot believe how they followed and allowed the horrendous consequences to happen. All you care about is your own small world, and you will happily destroy everybody elses - how sad is that.

You cannot answer me as to why you just cannot let go of the KC and MOVE ON. It's what you have been bleating about, yet you cannot seem to divert your energies into something positive and just let the KC go. It just smacks of being a very sore loser.

Quote:
While the Kennel Club Accredited Breeder Scheme is a good starting point for people wanting to find their way in the sometimes tricky process of choosing a puppy, it is not the only route to finding a suitable breeder as the Breed Clubs and Societies are also an excellent resource.  This seems to be a fair comment to me. Directing people to the breed clubs and societies is surely a good thing, no?

The scheme states clearly what the accredited breeder must do. It doesn't misrepresent itself in any way. It is not as effective as it should be, and needs to be improved, and health testing should become mandatory.  I am sure that with the right people working within the KC, this will happen eventually.

Perhaps it is time that you removed the Best Breeder certificate issued to you by....The Kennel Club, oh and all the trophies and CCs awarded by......the KC. These hold such a prominent place on your website - so why is that?
