Try Milkade by Happy Jack.  Mixes with just one pint of water, enough for one litter.  You should start feeding 5 days before whelping and continue for up to 10 days after.  Mix with the liver, cottage cheese and high quality kibble.  Milk will come without the mess.  Good luck.  www.happyjackinc.com

Ok, I'm gonna take a little different approach here..these are newborn pups right??? As in days old?? Why is everyone assuming they are not getting enough? Why are you assuming that?? Newborns nurse about 10% of the time and sleep 90%.

They are primitive babies who do everything slowly and are still growing and maturing.. I don;t even think my pups are ever on that long at one time unless they fall asleep.

Are they on their mother and are they quiet (mostly) otherwise?? Are her mammary glands full feeling? You can test her milk, squeeze some out and check the color. It should be whitish, creamish and look clean and good..

You are weighing your pups?? Everyday?? That will tell you if they are nursing enough and if you have a straggler you pay attention to it and make sure it gets on and gets to nurse. They should gain weight every day.. in a week to 10 days they should double their birth weight.

You need to feed mom good food although for the first few days to a week after her appetite and belly  may be a bit sensitive so takeit easy on her.. don't try to overload her .. but frequently and in small amounts give her yogurt and cottage cheese and some rice and chicken broth and work up to her regular food and then as they get older you need to increase her food substantially .....

You can certainly add the puppy gold to her food, I also use K9GoDog.. its a big boost and after a good walk they love it!!

Most of all you need to be calm (your post sounded panicky) and have plenty of reference material at your disposal.. there are some very good books.. I have several that are tattered and torn from years and years of use....

Now, how do things look??

I use goat's milk and egg yolks to supplement. Be careful that the pups get as much of the mother's milk as possible the first 2-3 days so they get the colostrum. The raw liver thing is a good idea in theory, but wait'll you see what happens to her stools when you introduce THAT all of a sudden!  The diahrea is liable to dehydrate her, thus reducing her milk supply even further.

Been there, done that. UGH!

That's ''why I stated it should have been started two weeks before and continue two weeks after whelping and I hope everyone knows to start with small amounts and increase daily as to not contribute to diahrea, which comes the first day anyway......add the yogurt and cottage cheese the third and fourth day   Usually the female doesnt eat much the first 24 hours anyway , just offer plenty of water and then her appetite will increase as her stomach settles....some breeders dont let them eat the afterbirth, some say eat it , as it contains goodies.....I usually grab it away on most of them , and let her eat one or two of the first ones......I never leave the box ....sleep right there pillow and blanket, tv and snacks and bones that ache on a hard floor cramped up but thats the glory of being the ganny......
