Im afraid that not how genetics or breeding works if only things were that simple we would have produced many great working dogs

skidoo, really, can you point a handfull 5th generation asko genotype dogs, also keeping in mind they where outcrossed for four generations after Asko,

by txarkoeta on 01 September 2021 - 05:09

A consanguinity until which generation do you think is effective?

by xPyrotechnic on 01 September 2021 - 08:09

It depends how close you want to linebreed, some do it from the 2nd generation others from the 3rd anything more than that is near enough useless

by duke1965 on 01 September 2021 - 08:09

xpyro, I did some succesfull 2-2 linebreedings that gave good producers as well, and a real nice result from a 2-3 linebreeding

"Take Asko genotype 5th gen. & breed it to Asko genotype 5th generation you will likely get Asko
genotype."

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Skidoo is just trying to generate conversation. Anyone who took 9th grade biology knows genetics does not work this way.
There are so many accidental 4-4, 4-5, 5-5 linebreedings that did not give genotype or phenotype of the LB dog that even if one did not take 9th grade bio, evidence abounds to disprove this statement.

mike delaney, you wont believe how many people believe factual nonsense in the dogworld

by xPyrotechnic on 01 September 2021 - 17:09

Duke im interested in knowing the breedings you are talking about, personally i really like the breedings you did out of Gila Waji

In Spain 2-3 is prohibited. In Europe 2-3 are very few, from 3-3 but 3-3 are also few, most are 4-5 / 4-4 / 4.5-5 / 5-5 ..... then many of the European breeders do not know what they do?
