Dawn G. Bonome

I also have a Sable and shedding is next to nothing.
I don’t know if it helps, but I try to brush him on a daily basis.
My other dogs in the past shedded A LOT, and were not Sables but Blk/Tan.

I gave a black and he does not shed anywhere my other dogs in the past have. He has a short tight coarse coat. I think it depends on coat type and or diet.

I just got a solid black GS 2 year old, Cz import on short notice. He was a bit too much for the previous owner. Short glossy coat. Although ‘glossy’ imo is more of an indicator or good health/diet than it is genetic characteristic like color, length. Nonetheless, more hair on the floor than my Malis produce. I do sense his undercoat may be little less dense than the last sable GS I owned. Maybe a little less shedding each year…we’ll see. One thing for sure, a fit, jet black GS is one fine looking dog.
