Never know how an 8 week puppy will turn out. As adults, sometimes they're oversized, sometimes undersized.
If you do not plan to show the dog, it doesn't really matter.
In fact many people from USA want oversized dogs! When they see our male, they think he's too small and he's 60 cm.

Do you love him? If you can't explain what you are looking for on the data base chat room, go to a GSD club and see what is out there. There are many different pursuits with GSDs but none which focus purely on size.

@biggee

  When you state "..bought a over sized German Shepherd". Do you mean that the breeding was advertised to be OVERSIZED? Did you purchase the puppy because it is suppose to grow up to be "bigger than normal German Shepherds"? Or are you asking the forum, based on your guys current size, is he big and going to get bigger? Sorry for the questions, i am just a bit confused

I've decided to start my own post for this question, so I deleted it.

I made a picture back in 2014 on how to measure the height of a dog:

As far as I know it's the same method to measure dog height used by most people who show or breed dogs professionally. Don't know if they have started to do it differently since the year I made this though. And for height male GSDs are 24–26 inches (60–65 cm), females are 22–24 inches (55–60 cm). In weight male GSDs are 66–88 lbs (30–40 kg), females are 49–71 lbs (22–32 kg). Anything above those numbers in height and weight is oversized.

26 inches is 66 cm. You would be surprised how far off it is measuring with a yardstick. You can be easily off by centimetres because you are still making a guess.
