Best working line kennels.

Criteria:

1) Three generations of titled working line females,
Or
2) Three or more studs that have produced at least ten titled females,
Or
3) Have 3 or more dogs take 10th or better in the BSP or WUSV
Or
4) A dog they have breed, handled and trained, and placed in the top 10 of the BSP or WUSV (I’m looking at you Talka Marda).

I realize this is skewed toward sport dogs, longevity, and European breeders.  If you think another breeder belongs here then feel free to bring them up but please defend your reasoning—you might be constructively challenged on it.

If you don’t like the criteria feel free to tell me.

If you’re not sure on some, add them and I’ll try to do the research.

From my research:

Salztalblick
Weinbergblick
Karthago
Dunklen Zwinger
Jabina
Tiekerhook
Von der adelegg
Aritar Bastet
Haus Pixner
Del lupo Nero
Vom Wolfsheim
daelenberghutte
Staatsmacht
Von der Mohnweise

all your criteria aretrainiglabour and depend on who the pups end up with

and several of your named kennels dont even have three  generations of their own breeding and dont meet your other criteria,  so you can delete quite few of them Wink Smile

I would say karthago proved to breed quality dogs over multiple decades even without running to famous names and having multiple generations of home bred dogs

duke1965,

"all your criteria aretrainiglabour and depend on who the pups end up with"

You are correct.  The critera was selected based on information that is available to me.  I tried to account for training by requiring several different different dogs which were hopefully each trained by a different trainer.

If you PM me which breeders you feel don't meet the criteria I can edit my post.

take from every breeder the amount of dogs that are healthy and perform well in the task they are bred/placed for (can be SAR, Law enforcement, sport, servicedog etc) , and devide that trough the amount of pups produced by that breeder ,

Best "Working" The title should be "Sport" There is a big difference between real working dogs and dogs that do just sport. Or how about sport dogs that do real work.

duke1965:

I like that idea. What would a succesful look like?  90%, 50%, 10%??? Health should be pretty high but I don't know that a realistic percentage would be.  What perctage should peform well at their job?

You're a breeder with some longevity, how do you measure your success?

Paul,

Yes I agree.  It's very sport-centric.  What criteria do you look for in a working line breeder?

Also, I'll bring up Stefan as an example because he's on this board.  He emphasizes real working ability in his breeding program, but also titles his dogs.  Is this uncommon?  He's had several dogs do very well in sport competition but also many dogs that work out in the real world.

Susie:

Thanks!

paul, im happy when my offspring is healthy and perform well in the task the owner purchased it for, im lucky most of my offspring goes to people who want more than a pet dog, furthermore I have 1 or 2 litters per year so not producing the numbers some others do

I would say 75 % or more healthy and performing would be nice to aim at , but also realize that as soon as there is fame also many pups go to pethomes and they will not work or be healthtested other than were there are problems,  so any hard numbers are hard to put on anything
