Hello Everyone, My name is Ken and I'm a new member and I have an aray of GSD's that I raise. My first pup is getting an Orthopedic Puppy Evaluation instead of the Pennhip, I wanted to see what this method has to offer. But the real reason for my message is that I am looking for solid a solid liver and a solid blue GSD's preferably long coats. I think all GSD's are special but I really like these colors, my dogs go through odedience training and I also have some trained as sevice dogs and now I would like to get them into hearding. The dogs I am looking for must have a great temperment and preferred if they were OFA'd or Pennhip. Please contact me if you are aware of any available dogs @ bird@frognet.net. Thanks!

With all due respect, this is not the site for this question (you may get hammered by others on this site). Livers and blues are a genetic FAULT, no respectable breeder will propetuate these faults. Those breeders who specialize in breeding these dogs end up with a very shallow genetic pool to continue producing blue and liver pups (both parents must be carriers) therefore a whole sloo of other health issues are likely. Producing blue and liver pups does happen by accident on occasion (where both parents have normal colors) but they are very hard to find, and likely kept quiet. I urge you to reconsider and get a pup from a respectable breeder who breeds within the standard.

GSD with all due respect to you, shut the hell up! You have owned a GSD...all of 5 years and you are going to jump all over the new guy to show your knowledge? Nowhere did Maneateroh say anthing about breeding these dogs. These are less than desirable dogs to the rest of the GSD community so he should be able to pick them up dirt cheap or free. Training is what he said would be done with the dogs. Putting dogs we don't want bred into service, is a smart thing to do. They can still work spayed or neutered and makes them better suited actually. People will you please stop jumping all over the newbies asking for help? Sorry if I sound harsh but think about what your saying before you post! It's no wonder in this day and age people don't ask for help. Nobody wants to be ridiculed for asking a question or for help.

Wow excuese me, I was not trying to jump all over anyone. I DID NOT imply he was going to breed them, I WAS explaining WHY he should not go to a breeder that specializes in breeding this fault. THAT is ALL. I DID say "Producing blue and liver pups does happen by accident on occasion(where both parents have normal colors)" implying if he does want one of these to try and find it rather than go to a breeder who breeds livers and blues on PURPOSE. I don't see anything wrong with what I said, just trying to help, NOT trying to put down or "jump" on anyone. Don't measure my knowledge by my years of ownership! I say these things because I WISH someone had clued me in when I was buying my first GSD, I wouldn't have had to learn by trial and ERROR!! I said he might get hammered by others because we all know some people are MEAN here, and prepare him for some rude replies. Sorry you didn't see my post the way I intended it!

He stated he already has an aray of Shepoherds so I doubt he is clueless. Just new to this database. Someone needs to take the undesirable dogs and do something with them, service or pets homes, or they get put down. Would be nice to have a place to sen dthese dogs instead of hiding them for some kennels I think anyway.

4pack-I hear ya.... btw, I know of people with "an array of Shepherds" that are very clueless, so that doesn't hold alot of weight with me, lol.

The first thing I thought when I read this was - is this a troll asking these questions? He doesn't sound quite legit to me. The second thing was, boy, is he ever gonna get it from someone LOL.
