I think you are all taking the original question far too literally.  I suspect the owner only wants to know if their dog is an American showline, German showline or maybe working line dog.  A photo would help, but of course it could just be a 'pet' dog of either indeterminate breeding or a mix of the types.

haha Beetree!  Though I don't think they should be advance courses, they should just be required for all students, no matter what IQ level.
Maybe include
She/He is Not All That, 101.
What Really Happens After High School, 102.
Wha Love Is and What Love Isn't, 103.

etc.  how many more can we come up with?

WELL,

They could also just be wanting to LEARN a bit about their NEW puppy...
and thought what better place to ASK then a GERMAN SHEPHERD WEBSITE.

Novel concept...

And YES, there have been MANY pre-arranged marriages throughout history. Especially when it concerned bloodline.
   **Sorry, just couldn't resist.**

PROBABILITY  -  this puppy has 'pet' parents, which both originate from Working Lines dogs  ?

The OP seems to be new to the whole pedigree and "bloodline" thing.  A little patience can go a long way to make the newly arrived feel welcome in our community of GSD owners and breeders.  Pretty much like it is with Labs and other breeds.  Nobody like to be told that their dog is a "shitter" no matter how superior that may make yuo feel, or if it is even true.  You can be frank without being coarse.  Prager as usual is very helpful and on the money.  We need more of this kind of helpful behavior if we are to expand the owner pool and the number of households buying quality bred GSD puppies from reputable breeders and practicing IPO and other sports.  Maybe if the OP posted the PDB pedigree link of his dog, some of our knowledgeable members could be of some help and make the OP, and others like him feel welcome.  I'm assuming that if he has the AKC #'s, he has the names, so getting some information may not be such a stretch.

Thanks Charlie but it has been three days and in the first 23 hours no reply at all. IF this person was really in search of our help , they should have provided it by now.

We all  have things to do too...and we love to help but this is what is wrong with us...we let people just say or do any ole thing and we do not show our contempt for neglect of KNOWLEDGE>

IF  you want a german shepherd pup....learn  , learn...

I did see that I believe this POSTER did post a picture?? am I right/??  It is a DDR? SABLE PUP?

LOOKS Like a nice dog....but why  WHY WHY  WHY did a seller not tell this buyer what he bought?

WE too long in this country just let people think it is ok to sell , buy and do what you want then come to the EXPERTS for advice..

NOT the way I was taught... PEOPLE need to know....I never back down from my belief of HOW YOU DO IT RIGHT>>>>

It's possible the breeder did tell the buyer what he was getting, but because the buyer isn't savvy with GSDs and dog terms they may not have understood/retained everything.

Happens to me all the time with certain things, like vehicles...I hate car shopping because I just don't understand what the hell they're talking about, LOL.  Heck, I could go to school for vehicles/mechanical stuff and still come out not knowing what the hell they were trying to teach me.    It's one of the few times when I think that having a boyfriend or husband may be useful

Charlie, reading comprehension goes a long way. Nobody called it a shitter. I was joking, then I stated how to gather the knowledge. I would be nicer like Hans if I had something to sell. I could also be more blunt and "coarse" by inquiring how so many people buy something without doing the research before the purchase. But you are correct. I need to be more inviting. I need to work on my patience. I'll start tomorrow, I promise. Let me ask you, Charlie, do you know what you're buying when you pull off a car lot? Hate to break it to you, but I have my dogs longer than my cars. If more people did their research, there would be less crap breeders and the quality of the breed would improve. And don't tell me that most people don't where to research. They sure find this place fast after buying a puppy.
