There seems to be some controversy about VA Hill Farbenspiel's work production across the board.  Apparently in Germany the feeling is that he is not that good at producing work. I feel the need to say what my personal observations have been over the past few years. What I have seen in being personally, at the BZSZ and other Sieger shows in the USA over the past few years, in very close observation of the bite work alone.... (keep in mind, my standards for good - excellent bite work is VERY high) .... I have seen a few dogs who's bite work I have been impressed with.  I do not look at the pedigree of the dog or name of the dog, before hand so as not to influence my impressions prior. When a dog impresses me I THEN go and look at who it is and what the pedigree is. I have seen several dogs that have impressed me that have Hill as their sire. A much higher percentage than many popular sires. I also look at the ones who do not do well and have found very few, if any, by Hill, that have poor bite work.
So, here is my personal summary of Hill:
Any popular sire, especially if they start out being considered a work producer,(like Hill), will get breedings to poor to very poor working females. Some sires are strong enough for their high work ethic to come through across the board, no matter who they are bred to. A excellent example of this would be VA Triumphs Gucci or Cello Romerau, or Ulk Arlett etc. But some sires can not overcome some of the weaker female lines. It looks to me as this is the case with Hill. Being line bred 3/5 on Cello he has the work himself and when bred to medium strong to strong females still produces this work. When bred to weak females, it seems, he can not overcome some of those weaknesses. SO, lol, THAT"S my humble opinion of Hill's production of work. I just thought that since there is such controversy on his line's production, that that needed to be said.

Yes, Lida they are Eon von Nimbus sons and Eon is a Hill son. I have personally seen Eon's bite work and it is SUPER! At the BSZS in 2009 I sat up and took note of his bite work even before I knew who it was. I know Deuce, in Germany did well in the BZSZ bite work and his owner/breeder is very happy with his working qualities even at his young age. How's Don's drives?
I know you also have Dana von Nimbus who is a female that has and passes on fantastic serious work. Dana is line bred on Ursus who has Jeck, Zamb, Mark and Cello all in the 1st 3 generations! Dana also has Amigo Belgier 2x, and has lots more of Jeck, Mark and Zamb and also includes some Kirschental lines! Nice girl!
